As much as I wanted Yandhi, JIK still had pretty good potential imo to be a solid gospel album, problem is most of it just sounds like demos from yandhi that he forced into watered down gospel songs that barely last two minutes because he knew he had to drop something. Had we gotten more stuff sounding like God Is and Jesus Is Lord I think i would’ve enjoyed that project way more. still would’ve preferred yandhi but yeah.

Ik that his label dropped it before he could finish, but idk I feel that the album was so cluttered, disorganized, and did not understand what it really wanted to be.

Leaks definitely ruined Encore and Nastradamus. Encore was leaked just a couple of weeks before its release, and that forced them to redo many songs. Nastradamus was originally supposed to be I Am Nastradamus, which was supposed to be a double album of I Am and Nastradamus, but then leaks made Nastradamus make new songs. Leaks did affect Encore more as they had less time to redo than Nas, but just looking at what they could’ve been is insane; just look at the leaks from them around the time they were supposed to drop those albums. In the end, we got what we got, and they were both okay albums. I don't consider them bad, as to me, they both have some highs and lows.

@@cak17 Well, at the time it was looked at career ending. He may have came back but he came back as a completely different artist and not exactly in a good way. Fifs career was already basically dead by Curtis. It wasn't a career ending album in the sense it was so bad he couldn't come back, it had been 10 years and his music still sounded the same minus the Dre beats, he just overstayed his welcome in the music scene and he realized that instead of dragging out his career just because he knows it'll still sell records and do tours.

Americans irrationally hate ‘Honesty Nevermind’, I still love ‘Massive’, it’s a summer bop, and Very interestingly massive made it to the set list of his tour bc he knows it’s popular. I do think Drakes performance was mid and half assed, but I think that so many rap fans can't even appreciate the beauty of some of the sounds from that project and that upsets me considering how closely tied house and hiphop are when you look back at the history.

I am a die-hard Chance the Rapper fan. I'll be honest that The Big Day was not his best AT ALL, I did not like Hot Shower at all, felt like he was making it for the fans who may have been on the outside looking in but it came off desperate. But he has some moments on the album that show he was capable of doing classic chance work like "Do You Remember, or 5 Year Plan". I know his next album/project will be a huge step up by the few singles he's released The Heart and the Tongue, Highs & the Lows. Whatever Chance has next he will bounce back HUGE.

tbh i like Rebirth and Speedin Bullet 2 Heaven, but I completely understand why people hate them. I'm not even too much of a rock/grunge fan either. Prom Queen, Runnin, Knockout, and On Fire are songs off Rebirth i revisit very often, and Drop The World is objectively the best song. it took a couple of listens to like it but i eventually fell in love with it. Fuchsia Butterflies off SB2H is honestly one of my favorite Cudi songs, and I think CONFUSED, Speedin Bullet 2 Heaven (title track), Screwed, Wedding Tux, Worth, Man in the Night, Judgmental and Handle With Care are good (especially Confused and the title track). However SB2H has so much empty filler tracks that it's difficult to listen to the whole album

Personally, Upper Room, Dream Time Machine, Live & Learn and Efflictim are my favourites, they just take me to a different world. Speaking of Live & Learn, the ending is just crazy. The album is SUPER underrated.

You know what I change my mind. I just had my second listen of Speedin Bullet 2 Heaven and I loved it. All the songs hit me, I could hear the pain in cudi's voice want what he was going through. The album was a cry for help. Adding context from 'A man named Scott' (his documentary) just really makes this album really special. I love this album now.

I disagree with Kingdom Come, it was pretty good. I never heard MCHG properly but I'm sure it was better than that. The Prelude, Lost One, Do U Wanna Ride, 30 Something, I Made It, Dig a Hole and 44 Four's these are all great songs listen to them again (with lyrics if necessary) Trouble is decent. I think Jay is top 3 for me. Haven't heard any of his albums in full since KC.

This is a controversial opinion but I don’t think Revival is that terrible: I’ve never found the production to be painful to listen to (except for Remind me and Heat and the first half of Untouchable), I never found the features to be particularly egregious, and this last point will be the most controversial: I think lyrically it’s better then people give it credit for. Before you all come at me: I’m aware that it has the line ‘Your Booty is heavy duty like diarrhoea’ but there is a lot of good writing in that album that gets overlooked: for instance Walk on Water is a very well written song, the song Believe is packed full of clever punchlines like ‘even my cheap shots are overpriced’. The song Untouchable despite the sample not being great in the first half isn’t badly written , it’s quite clear Eminem did his research before writing (I should point out that even though the part that uses the Cheech and Chong sample isn’t great, the instrumental rest of the song that happens after the beat switch up isn’t bad IMO). There are also examples of lines which some people say are bad but I actually think are good. One example of this is the line ‘so she’s been on the web lately, says maybe she will be my Gwen Stacy, to spite her man’. I’ve seen many people use that bar as an example of the terrible bars from that album but honestly I don’t get what’s wrong with it, it link up very nicely with the words Gwen Stacy and web. One example of a lyric which I don’t understand the hated against is the line ‘drop me like a hot potato’. I understand why people might call that line corny, but saying it’s painful cringe: I don’t know, it just feels like a bit of a stretch. I guess I don’t always find Eminem’s corny lines as painful as other people do. In terms of songs, the only ones that I really didn’t like were the songs Chloraseptic, first half of Untouchable , Remind Me, Heat, Need me, Tragic Endings and maybe offended: I can’t say I had a huge problem with the rest of them. In terms of defending Revival I’m going to stop here. I remember Fantastic Hip Hop already made an IG post about when people make overly long comments about things: one example is when Eminem fans try to explain why Emienm is good now so I guess I have just proved his point 😂. Also given how hated Revival is I know I’m likely to get pushback for this comment which I’m ready for, but can we keep it respectful though.

Haven't heard the album in full, but Closed On Sunday is one of the most laughably bad things I've ever heard, and if the rest of the album is that bad, yeah this is Ye's worst no question.
