Most of them would be in the Glasgow hinterland. I *wouldn't* put Falkirk on there, since it does have something going for it, like Callendar Park & the Antonine Wall. Falkirk's main problem is Northern Irish sectarianism of both varieties. Stirling has ALWAYS been a city, and it's not one the worst places in Scotland - I've even gone on holiday there.

I grew up in Grangemouth, which was just down the road from Falkirk and I went there very often. Folk do believe Falkirk is just the Kelpies and the Wheel (then again, all we had was the BP) 😆 Sometimes, I still visit family that way, but the high street has changed a lot over the years, lots of businesses rarely lasting long. But it’s not that different in most Scottish towns these days.

I was very surprised to see Stirling in this list. The castle and the old streets around it are really nice, and it has great views over to the Trossachs and Ben Lomond. I know there's some bad areas, but it's definitely not deserved of being on such a list! Worst places I've seen would be Methil, Grangemouth, Motherwell (anywhere in North Lanarkshire really) Port Glasgow/Greenock, Linwood, West Calder.

I worked for a few months around the Glasgow area. Stayed in Coatbridge. Also have been on holiday on the West Coast and Highlands. I'm a well traveled person and have backpacked and visited many countries all over the world. This is my judgement. Scotland is simultaneously the best and worst place on the planet.

Really enjoyed this. Loved living in Scotland and as bad as all of these towns may be, the majority of the people where good steam. Unfortunately many English speaking people from around the world, will miss the majority of the humour in this due to not understanding the Scottish dialect.
