Reminds me of "Cigarette Burns." A horror short about a guy trying to find an old lost film for a collector. The old black and white silent film ends up being a snuff film of an actual angel. The film was supposed to drive people mad or something like that. It's been a while.

The skin is likely a moose skin.

It makes so much sense to me to think that this isn't really "one story" but rather a trope that got continually rehashed and repeated across many stories or other prose writing. I do remember reading this story. I was exclusively reading creepypastas from either the creepypasta website, or nosleep. I never went to 4chan. So either someone copied that 4chan comment verbatim and made it a post someplace else, or someone did try to make it into a longer story. I know for a fact I've read it before, but I could've sworn it was used as a sort of monologue at the end of the story. Basically what I remember is POV story of a Soviet soldier or scientist detailing how they detected something odd in Siberia, found out it was god, killed him, and then that monologue at the end.
@citocortez5631 Жыл бұрын
Does any of this ring a bell? "The God-Maker" is a lesser-known creepypasta that tells the story of a secret Soviet Union project in the 1950s to create a weapon capable of killing God. The project is led by a brilliant but insane scientist named Dr. Kozlov, who becomes obsessed with the idea of destroying God after witnessing the horrors of World War II. Kozlov's experiments involve exposing subjects to a mysterious substance that alters their consciousness and allows them to perceive God's presence. The hope is that by doing so, they will be able to find a way to destroy God. However, the experiments have catastrophic consequences, causing the subjects to go insane and experience horrifying visions of a demonic entity known as "the God-Maker." As the project progresses, Kozlov's obsession with killing God becomes all-consuming, leading him to commit horrific acts of violence against his own team and anyone else who stands in his way. The story culminates in a final experiment in which Kozlov himself is exposed to the substance and confronts the God-Maker in a terrifying showdown. Overall, "The God-Maker" is a dark and disturbing tale that explores themes of obsession, power, and the dangers of playing God.

@@citocortez5631 Can't say it does. What I remember wasn't an intentional "hunt" for god, but more of an accidental discovery. Basically scientist discover something odd in Siberia, they don't know what's going on, our MC is part of the team sent to figure it out, and it turns out to be god.

I can’t prove that I read it there, but I’m 90% sure it was passed around with that picture. Most creepypasta on /x/ back in the day were passed around by manually reposting them as images. They were all screencaps of text, sometimes with an picture, or other of other 4chan posts. Stuff was rarely archived back in the day. I also remember reading a more complete version of this creepypasta in a wiki. It was definitely before the fandom takeover so it is pretty possible that it was removed for some reason in the main wiki and it was reposted to that one. Remember it being at least 3x longer, and unlike the found one which is more of a "monster hunter greentext"-hook, it was more like a "lost files" narrative. So I think it was made later based on it The stretched hide image made me remember it so clearly that that I even remember how the CSS was laid out: it was an a aside element, right-aligned, right near the article end (also, I think there was a caption). So it had to be an wiki. Definitely not 4chan, barely knew about it at the time I don't remember the experiments for technology part (it was more of a post-mortem?). Also don't think there was anything about heavy metals or nuclear tests killing supernatural creatures, or that "god being dead" line was just been tacked on in the middle of it. That was supposed to be the creepypasta pay-off/climax, there was at least one paragraph for it As far as I remember, it was more like the TOMT: It was an small soviet army group in the wilderness (don't remember if it was Siberia specifically) and they think it was an animal, so they empty their assault rifles on it since it didn't die right away. Then they later found it was god (the experiments part?), and they hide it away and conceal/withhold its death due to the cold war/religion Did it also end as the narrator thought he was getting hunted/murdered for this information? Was there also something before the russian army found god? Don't remember, nothing comes to mind. If someone remembers something like this, please share something. Tried searching in english and my mother language, but couldn't find it

Very good video ! I really like that you are always covering new stuff that hasn't been talked to death before but interesting nonetheless. Also, I wanted to add that back in the golden days of creepypastas, I remember some websites adding photos that were not present in the original story to add spookyness, and only then the photo becomes linked to the story in the people's minds. This would explain why some redditors remember it and others don't. I'd say it happened in one of the later reposts of the story, as only the more recent testimonies on reddit mention it and the og 4chan post did not have one.

I was really active on /x/ around the time of this pasta and when you described it it sounded so familiar, but I don't think I ever read the actual version found; no real surprise there though, since yeah, this trope was huge at the time and I think it influenced a lot of stories. I'd also mention that the post that was found might indeed be the only version, as it would likely count as a creepypasta itself since some stories were written in that really mundane, factual way on purpose, something that carried on into the style used for the SCP Foundation.

Wow, it's incredibly ironic that someone attached that specific image to the creepypasta and they became linked. The story is about Soviet soldiers, but the image is of Finnish soldiers: Soviets were the primary enemy of Finns in WWII, lmao. So it's exactly backwards.

I just scrolled by, and I saw your perfect capitalization in your title. It genuinely took me by surprise compared to other titles. No capitalization of every word or letter but all in the right spots. None of the articles aside from "The" which is where and when it should be. I'm glad I'm not the only one who paid attention in language arts class.

the mention of the evil farming game and saki sanobashi in this vid makes me think back to to where the saki sanobashi and evil farming game searches ultimately went, and i think it relates here: see, saki sanobashi was a case of a piece of lost media so unconfirmable, that people gave up looking because even if it does exist, most dont think it has any chance of being found, not to mention the nature causes most to default to "it doesnt exist" because it is a matter of believing it does that is needed for any meaningful effort. as for the evil farming game, it wasnt TRULY "just a joel stream" and i still, personally, dont consider it solved. it was a coalesce of a guy misremembering a joel stream that helped give momentum to and kickstart a search for a actual, real, distinct game, that ultimately, never got found, and only served to be mixed up with others people were looking for. I think one of those two is going on here, most likely the latter, as it seems this was some sort of creepypasta trope on 4chan at one point, and i think 3 different things are being looked for here. I REALLY hope that people dont make the same mistake of the evil farming game and end the search after finding one of the things being looked for, forgetting all about the one that most people WERE looking for.

i personally don't think saki sanobashi is real and was a 4chan shitpost but it's possible it's out there. the evil farming game really was just a stream though. after someone found the archive of the joel stream, the guy who originally made the post looking for the "game" confirmed that's what it was. he'd watch vinesauce streams while falling asleep and his brain turned it into more than what it actually was. also OP of the first TOMT post reached out to me saying the 4chan post is in fact what they read. they've since marked their post as solved. i'm sure there's other variations, but it's at the least the original and what OP was looking for

That disturbing photo has been used several times on other Creepypastas as well and I came across it too a long time ago when I fell down a rabbit hole of cannibalism occuring during WW2, particularly in the Eastern front and also by the Japanese army on a few occasions. Former US president George H W Bush fought in WW2 and himself almost got captured by a squad of Japanese cannibals that were prosecuted after the war

Speaking of lost content, in Alaska there was a blog that covered missing and murdered indigenous peoples, as well as a heart wrenching story about molestation by priests in the villages. They connected the dots on several murders in Anchorage as a serial killer (around 2012-2013?), and ended up deleted right around when the police confirmed the theory.

I've heard the term "God is dead and we have killed him" since I was a kid, and it always made me laugh, we (me and my old middle school friends) used to say it whenever something cringe happened. I had no idea that this originated so far

I definitely remember reading something super similar to their description. But I’m from Eastern Europe and I read it in russian, so maybe in Russian language it will be easier to find and it not lost.
@42sraf Жыл бұрын
I commented that before finishing the video. The one I read was named “Siberia” or something similar, had similar premise but different one probably. Maybe translator changed it, maybe one story was based on another, maybe they aren’t related.

I read this story back in 2013. Around Halloween my friend loaded a word document she claimed was emailed to her titled “secrets” on her live journal. It had some other stories in it, she deleted her journal years ago.

two minutes into the video and i have to say to me this sounds like a mishmash of memories of three relatively popular early 2010s creepypastas: 1. russian sleep experiment 2. harbinger experiment 3. name of this one escapes me but it’s a short one about an experiment where scientists deprive a guy of all 5 senses to try and make him see god

The funny thing is that in the GOC stories there is a story with the same premise, but obviously much more extensive. Instead of being the red army, it's a bunch of old timey occultists, and Nietzche writes "God is dead" because the psychic backlash of killing God was so severe it was felt all over the world. Cool how the premise was reinterpreted for the SCP wiki.
