Which is the best car of all time? First of all you're gonna ask: "What do you mean with "best"?" Well. My parameters (in random order) are:
1) Is this car good in doing what a car normally does? Being reliable, practical, cheap, economical, fast, etc?
2) Does this car answer to a specific question?
3) Does this car invent something new?
4) Is this car able to do lots of different things that are usually not compatible (comfort and handling, for example)?
5) Does this car have a positive image? If I see one on the road I'll think the owner is a tasteful good guy or a total incompetent idiot?
6) Is this car just an appliance or does it have a soul that makes it more, even if it's not "perfect" in a strict technical way?
7) Does this car have a history, something to tell about a man or a historical period?
8) Does this car have any racing pedigree?
9) Are there any records of any kind this car has broken?
10) In 50 years time from its "death", will lots of people remember this car?
11) Is there at least one area in which this car is excellent?
12) Is this car particularly rare to find, nowadays?
13) Finally, did this car reach the aim it was conceived for?
So, that's a tricky one. Now you probably begin to understand why a Volvo Estate is in 40th place while a Lambo Countach is in 74th.
The Countach is just very very striky, it's a poster car, a dream car. But in truth it was almost completely undrivable.
The Volvo 240 SW instead turned the Estate car from a humble workhorse into a fashion item in one time, while being a very capable car indeed.
The Volvo Estate is a statement in its class just as the Countach is in its class. But the Volvo is very good as a normal estate car, while the Countach is horrendous as a sportscar.
That's why the volvo Estate is a better car.
This is my point of view, obviously.
As a car enthusiast I'd love some constructive critics!

From 100 to 90: "Honoris causa". Cars that have reached a goal or began a new "chapter" in car's history which is important enough to put them into the chart;
From 89 to 72: "Courage, first of all". Cars that have won the prize for their courage in one or more particular areas such as looks, technical avantgarde, concept;
From 71 to 58: "Class is not water". Cars that have class, elegance, immediate impact. You recognize the shape at first glance;
From 57 to 48: "People's cars". Every world power has one. The car that has put the nation on wheels;
From 47 to 33: "Institutions". You think of a particular category of cars, you think of that particular car that represents it better than any other;
From 32 to 16: "State of art". The best car of each category will be found here;
From 15 to 1: "The best cars of the world". The very winners, coming from all of the previous categories. Not just excellence. Carisma is what you need here.

I didn't really know what the heck you were on about before I read the description, but now I actually agree with most of them (a change when it comes to list like this). There were a few I disagreed with/didn't understand how they fit into the category but that's always going to happen. I think some annotations in the video would help.

Maybe one of the criteria could be the price of used compared to new, that tells how much people still want the vehicle lets say after 15 years, and the perceived reliability of the vehicle. Well this would apply only to mass production cars though... rare cars produced in small numbers can be expensive and have a collection value but that in itself would not tell much about their reliability. If this criteria is applyed, the G wagon would rank on the top of the list...

@gabymatey99 Cause it fits 6 people in just 4 metres with 6 identical seats, it is very roomy and functional, it has very tall windows but very low beltline so it has got a low center of gravity.. This way it's got an almost sporty handling while having a great visibility.. It is the perfect people carrier which happens to be very nice to drive. And it's very striky to look at both inside and out. A very brilliant idea. Equipped with petrol, diesel, GPL and methane engines

@TheBackslash1 I absolutely adore the DeLorean. Forgot about that, to be honest. But I think the DeLorean is a movie star but besides that it is a very slow and very expensive sportscar produced by a drugdealer :) and the stainless steel body wasn't a big deal.. Not a top 100 for me. Not sure about the Supra neither.. Thanks for watching!

Great List. I am not totally with you (and nobody will) but i can see your point. But hey... Hummer H2? And the Ford Pick-up Truck at 46? Maybe good selling cars but they are rubish. The 911 has to be higher. Reliable, good for every day, great handling and power, Hystory and they are damn well build. The Mclaren F1 in front of the Veyron and hey: I miss the BMW E30. Thats the main things what I believe is wrong, but that is just a oppinion like yours. ;) Mk-1 GTI is at a good possition.

@rapinNtapin "cars that exceed 220 mph" is a bit reductive.. An Enzo is a hypercar without a shadow of doubt and the ZR1 is almost as fast in a straight line.. And the LP670SV is faster and absolutely comparable through the bends. So? That's why I took those as example. They are very "on the edge" between two categories, so you have to consider a lot of factors to really sum up things. Just like in my chart. It isn't easy! Where would you put those two from 1 to 100?

It's incredible how a "II" makes a world of difference. In this case between a '68 Mustang Cobra (superb) and a '76 Mustang Cobra II (disgusting). Ask any american car enthusiast and he will confirm. And that's just one of the many evidences of the fact that you are very not 45.. (I hope..). If you are 45 I'm 89, I guess...-.-

I agree totally with the golf gti mk.1 as the number one car. it was a innovative and good looking little car. The Bugatti is an ugly fast car but the golf is quick, its reliable, affordable, and a blast to drive. Good video although you need to rethink the rest of the line-up.

And the normal Escorts were sold in much bigger numbers than the normal Imprezas or Evos. Veyron is symbolically just out the top 10 cause it's not difficult to build the best car in the world if you take 10 years and an enormous amount of money to do it.
