I think that you're looking too deep in to this. I don't want to be "educated" I don't want a "message" I don't want an underlying "purpose" I don't want "core values" of taxi-ing I just want to chill-out, kick-back, switch-off and watch/listen to you driving about and talking about your day and your customers. Keep it simple..... love it Tom.

I think everyone found the shift videos engaging for different reasons. For me, I run a London based business with delivery at the heart of its offering so I've been navigating London for the past decade and coming home after a long day, watching your shift videos was a weird mix of relaxation and stimulation - the music and rain falling on the cab was relaxing and saying out loud which route or road you were on and seeing if I was correct was a great way to destress. Shame they'll end but totally understand the reasoning behind it and I know all future content will be worth it. The play button is well deserved for sure.

That’s a shame the shift videos are going, I find them nice and relaxing to listen to. In a KZbin world of ‘10 thinks you NEVER KNEW’ or my CRAZIEST STORIES ever’, they were a nice change of pace.

What a legend. Couple of video ideas: 1) something around the livery company, how it works etc. 2) a series on useful taxi ranks people don’t know about (maybe places you regularly get hailed despite there being a tank nearby) 3) exploring the extremities of the knowledge, how far out do you need to learn and some of the more obscure/interesting destinations you get around there

Long term watcher, infrequent commentor, Londoner from birth. Congrats on the 100k, thats a huge achievement. I really enjoy watching your videos and youre so passionate about the trade. I find your shift videos a really relaxing time out of my day. Keep up the hard work. You have a decent sized but passionate and engaged audience. For the time being I dont think you need to try to tap into the next viral video that goes big. I'm so glad you were there to celebrate with me at the KZbin office, but honestly I felt the exact opposite. I really felt like you earned your 100k the "proper" way through long form content, whereas I made it there with the aid of short form content. Your audience is so much more locked in than mine as a result, and it's because you've put so much time and effort into every video. I'm sorry to see the shift videos end, and I understand the reasons you have for stopping them. I think the shift videos are popular because they are a slice of your life we get to see. Your personable style makes it a pleasure to follow you as you work a busy day in the taxi, almost as if we were there with you. I feel a thrill as I watch those videos, not knowing when you'll pick up, where you'll go, the people you'll meet. The rollercoaster of emotions you feel as you get an 'on and off', as you hunt for jobs, as you navigate roadworks, we feel them right with you. You could say I experience the excitement and freedom of the taxi trade vicariously through you and your videos. That is why I watched. Though it may differ from your personal philosophy, not every piece of media is supposed to teach something. There's value in videos that provide comfort and companionship. Very strange thing to say about a video I know. That feeling of joining you on one of your shifts is hard to describe, but it's wonderful. Don't undersell yourself Tom. KZbin is as much about personality as about content, maybe even more so. You have the personality that people like to watch, to be with, to root for, and that shines through most when you're just working a day in the ol' cab.

Hi Tom. Firstly, Congrat's on 100,000 subs. A Well Deserved Honor for you, and we are very proud of you !! (I've been to London) and I do love your videos. We learn a great deal about (You, The Knowledge, London, Etc.) I know those shift videos are beasts to make. I have friends who make videos, and every time they change something they get the raft of "Shut up and make videos" messages. Then they go into a death spiral of worrying about what everybody is saying, when YES, it is about the Viewers and the VIEWS, but in the end, at what cost? Your emotional and mental state ?? Some of those friends now take the tac of not worrying so much about what everybody else thinks, and they just make videos. (They do not have at stake, what you do, mind you) nonetheless, all this stress and worry, might send YOU into that death spiral, and you say to yourself, aw, why bother?? YES Bother !!! You know what you are good at, and really, you do that very well. If you need to wind down shift videos, so be it. Your CORE crowd will still watch. It's those pesky people who always need to nit pick your content. (That may matter, and it might not) Now you will see who your CORE crowd really is, now that you've chosen to take a certain path now. Those people who will follow you to the ends of the earth !! I'd like to see "The World" through Tom's eyes as he takes us places we have never been, and probably will never see with our own eyes !! Please do not give in to the social crowd herd mentality. maintain your individuality and autonomy to make your own decisions. And for the love of God, don't get caught up in the wheel spinning social re-education of the masses by the few.

Thank you for your honesty Tom your job has to be taken more seriously over KZbin. TfL hold the reins and I understand why they are reluctant to give approval over whether filming by drivers in taxis is okay. Discretion is part of the job and client privacy is paramount in our job, I don't like cabbies who tweet when they pick up someone famous. If they give permission to film every cabbie might start doing it and not ensuring the way you do, that address' and identities are protected. Putting yourself out there does add to the pressure to provide content but do you own thing and don't sell your soul. Best of luck 🤞

Longer form content is severely underestimated IMHO. Watching/listening to things in the background while working or flying on flight sim is the primary reason I use YT. Content specifically like yours, Geoff's, and Mentour Pilot fit that perfectly. It's real-world info, from a real person, and can be actively watched or even just listened to. No extravagance, or pushy crap, just realness. It's good stuff and certainly appreciated by me. On a side note when is YFood coming to the US? 🤣
