Thanks Matt that was great. Also difficult, when I listened, each one That followed I liked more, spoilt really as all are excellent. I then listened to the strumming again, then thought I really like the Howlett cherry and the millar mango followed by the moon bird. But the Uluru has it on value, held its own and can see why you chose it. Will be watching this over and over again. Thanks for taking the time to do thi, someone is going to be very pleased with any of these ukes.

Matt, thanks for this. I love, love, love these comparison videos that you do. Since you asked, my favourite in sound was the Lion. Second the Millar. The Uluru impressed me too! They are all stunning though and of course have their own individuality in looks and sound. Thanks again, Matt!

Hi Matt If you could pick one to keep as your only uke which one would you choose?
@WorldofUkes3 жыл бұрын
Very tricky! Ideally I'd like to combine aspects of several into one super uke! If pushed, and it would have to be pushed, it might be the Millar (just, only just). What you can't see in the video is that that one was the nicest to play (for me). Plus, I am influenced by how lovely the people I deal with there are (not that the others aren't, just they're ultra enthusiastic and friendly!)

That was inspirational. I’m afraid this time I just watched and appreciated rather than trying to pick out favourites. For this video it would almost be a shame for me to try! When I’m ready (financially and in terms of playing ability) for a top range ukulele, it’s really not going to be an easy decision, which is just as it should be. But Uluru are now on my radar to investigate further. And the sound adjustments also let me appreciate the Maestro more.
@WorldofUkes3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul - and yes, that's fine - after all, I asked people for their favourites but didn't want to choose one myself!
@TheSingingCelebrant2 жыл бұрын
The Maestro and the Anuenue are much bigger and altogether more rounded sounds - to me as a Singer, they certainly sing much more than the others. You may have done this previously but just wondering what Sustain they have? Thank you for these. I'll even stick my neck out and say the Maestro is the overall best. I was disappointed that the Anuenue 200 muddied the first string when being strummed. Not so much on the Orange one but definitely a more complete sound on the Maestro - Again just my opinion
@WorldofUkes2 жыл бұрын
It's interesting, those Maestros really seem to divide opinion. But I can see where you're coming from about the power they have. Sustain is good - not earth-shattering, but good!

Great comparison Matt, thank you. My choice would be 1) Moon Bird, 2) Howlett Cherry, 3) Kiwaya 5k, if money was no matter but, the Uluru for value. They all sound very good though. Thanks again.

I can't get used to the colour, but the sound of the Lion is very beautiful. The different characters of the ukes at this level makes it difficult to compare.

I've learned to listen to these with decent headphones otherwise I can't tell the difference. I did badly in the cheap-to-expensive comparison video :) The Moonbirds seemed to have the deepest tones and the Revelator was the brightest. I'd probably choose something in-between. I was tempted by the Kiwaya(s) when I was in the shop in the summer buying my partner's Uluru Concert (btw she loves it!). The Howlett Cherry spoke to me as well. Probably I'd choose between one of those. Btw the Revelator you played is different to the one linked; has a different sound hole design. Are they otherwise similar?
@WorldofUkes3 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven - yes, I put the wrong pictures on - but to me, I can't detect a sound difference with the Revelators! I think you do well to listen with headphones - otherwise with laptop speakers even a real £12,000 ukulele would sound tinny! And good observations too :)

While making lunch I listened to this again, thinking about what made my ears really perk up, and sent me looking at the screen to see what it was. The Uluru immediately pleased me. The Maestro caught my attention, then the Moonbird and Lion got even better. The next one that really made me look with the Millar Custom. Independent of any price concerns, the Millar Custom was my absolute favourite, followed by the Moonbird.
