I know a lot of people think of Behringer as being cheap and low quality, but most of their products I've used have preformed quite well for the price.

Yeah. I don't understand those opinions. I have the UMC204HD audio interface, the Behringer XM8500 microphone, and the Behringer B-1 and I *love* them!

It does a solid job in my limited experience. One bit of kit I do have of theirs, which is more bass specific rather than studio specific is, the BDi21. Their take on the famous Tech21 SansAmp. In it's own right, it's an absolutely fantastic pedal. I use it in front of my old HH Power Amp and 1x17 combo and the range of sound you can get is immense. You can pull off pretty much any style of music using that little cheapo pedal. So much bang for the buck, it's obscene

I'd be interested to know if there is anything behringer that sucks? I've had two of their Audio interfaces and several mics. All preformed very well. Great stuff if you are on a budget!

Is the grille on this interchangeable with the XM8500 or the SM58? (I don’t like the black grille of the XM8500 and can’t find replacements.) If it is, I’d buy this just for the grille and the case.

One thing to note that the 84C is not a 58 clone but a 48 clone, the budget version of the SM58 Basically, the Behringer 84C is the budget version of the budget version.

Is that good for instrument? Acoustic guitar and amp?

You can use it for instrument recording yes. It'll work for guitar amps, snare, etc. While it will work for acoustic guitar, I generally prefer a condsenser mic for those purposes.

Something has to be going on between Amazon USA and Behringer because everything is offsite sold on them (marketplace) so it would appear they had a falling out or something.

They may have had a falling out possibly, I am not sure. A lot of podcasting equipment has been sold out everywhere right now though. Check out the B&H links and see if they have any in the description. I think the demand is far ahead of the supply with this sort of stuff right now.

$11.99 US and $32 AUD is very inexpensive! I had to give this one a shot because it's just come out and I was hoping it might be a game-changer. The next microphone coming up on the channel sounds amazing for the price! I'll compare it with this one too.
