I always wondered, and I still do, why the Catholic Church is so adamant towards End Times prophecy. Being myself a catholic, I have been systematically rebuked when I try to draw the attention of my priest friends on this issue : the New World Order, The mark of the beast, the state of the world....etc. They do not seem to appreciate me unfolding the subject and all they do is to turn a blind eye on the matter, or simply to discredit any attempt to explain why so many end time prophecies are being fulfilled before our eyes . Father William, you are the first catholic priest who seems to talk about that burning subject, and it's a pleasure watching your video. The only thing is that , what does remnants referenced mean . It is the genetic ancestors of Daniel (who dispersed into places unknown maybe Africa) , Benjamin and David who dispersed into western Europe . The 144 000 are genetic descendants whom have incarnated souls .

I always thought Joseph is included in Joshua - through his 2 sons Ephraim and Manasseh. Having said that, I am not sure as to exactly why Joseph (the favorite son) was given 2 tribes. I do know that in the earlier prophetic books (Primarily in Isaiah and Hosea), Ephraim is used in general to represent the Northern Kingdom of Israel.

Ephraim and Manasseh are often referred to as "half-tribes" sometimes as the "half-tribes of Joseph" (but the latter is rare and I don't think biblical. Joseph, however, is still not listed among the twelve tribes to receive land after the conquest. Great observation of the prophets. Right on point. A couple of the prophets refer to the two kingdoms as "Judah" and "Ephraim". One has to know the history to understand what they are referring to.

I do not want to use a single verse as any pre-text for speculative theology, but Genesis 49:17 refers to the tribe of Dan as a serpent in the way, a horned snake in the path that bites the horses heals. Hosea 7 speaks of the iniquity of Ephraim, and that prophet refers to Ephraim as the representative tribe of the Northern Kingdom as King Jeroboam was from the tribe of Ephraim. All of the Northern Kings were spoken of as doing evil in the eyes of the Lord and are often compared to Jeroboam. 1 Kings 12:25-33 mentions King Jeroboam building 2 golden calves in Dan and Bethel (a city in Ephraim). Perhaps the reason why Ephraim and Dan are excluded is because they were the 2 tribes that hosted the shrines instead of letting people go back to Jerusalem for true worship.

The land originally allocated to Dan was a small enclave in the central coastal area of Canaan, between Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim and the Philistines. This territory, was soon diminished by the Philistines. The tribe was only able to camp in the hill country overlooking the Sorek Valley. The tribe eventually migrated to the north of Philistine territory, northeast of the territory of Naphtali (Judges 18). In subsequent maps the original territory of Dan was absorbed into Ephraim. This re-defined the northern extent of the land of Israel. Some texts in the Bible refer to the Israelite territory as "from DAN to Bersheba."

Many things in Revelation are symbolic and not literal. The beasts represent governments, the harlot who rides the beast is false religion. Revelation also contains mysteries and secrets that weren't meant to be understood until the end times. As for Rev. 7: 4 - 8, it speaks of the 144,000 out of the sons of Israel, the names listed there are: Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, Benjamin. Are these literal tribes of Israel? There is something out of place here. That indicates that 'something is going on here, take a closer look'. Jesus often gave illustrations that many didn't comprehend. It's somewhat like a riddle. How can the 144,000 be from Israel, if the tribes of Ephraim and Dan are not included in this list and there was no tribe of Joseph? Also, the Levites were set aside for temple service and were not one of the 12 tribes. Clue: The answer is found in the Bible. See Romans 2: 28, 29; Galations 3: 26, 29. Romans 8: 14, 16, 17

First of all one has to remember that the different books of the Bible, in this case the New Testament, were not written in conjunction with one another. While the message of the 144,000/Countless Multitude of Revelation is meant to give hope to the persecuted who remain faithful (survived the great trial, washed their robes in the blood of the lamb, etc.), the passage in Matthew is meant to warn against complacency born from a sense that one is guaranteed entry into the Kingdom of Heaven. In Luke 13:28-29, even Jesus says: "Then people will come from east and west, from north and south, and will eat in the kingdom of God." while still saying "you yourself are thrown out." This would combine both sentiments of universal hope for the nations (gathering with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), and a very personal warning against complacency. Hope this answers your question.

I know knowledge needs to be spread but it seems like everyone wants to be the 144. We should all be happy to serve God. I get dreams that look cool and all and I dont wonder if that's what I may do one day, but we should all do what can now. I'm sorry, I'm a little disappointed. The 144,000 are Jewish believers in Jesus from the 12 tribes of Israel.
