i just want to thank you for what you do. i like the *story* in most horror media, but i have anxiety and can't really handle watching most horror videos and movies. the anticipation and the imagery (depending on what it is) is generally too much for me. your videos allow someone like me to be immersed in a story without having to worry about what might be coming up next. i can finally appreciate content that i would otherwise never know existed, and you have no idea exactly how grateful i am that your channel exists.

And this is exactly why I blurred the 'Girl Goes Psycho' video and slowed down the 'Pierre's Head' jumpscare. Messages like yours are the kind I never expected to get when making this channel, and since becoming aware that there are viewers who feel this way and have this experience, I try to keep the course steady and make sure my content is accessible for everyone in the community. Thanks for letting me know I'm meeting that need for you.

If you watch the intruders at the very beginning before the lights turn on, they were speaking french until static happened and suddenly they were speaking perfect english.
I wouldn’t say perfect, and also that can easily be explained as them just being bilingual and choosing to speak French or English at any given point

i honestly really dont like how the first videos are formatted. they feel like movie trailers, honestly, not someone showing what he's found. i can respect that there's editing but it all feels... a little too professional? and the movie tagline shit is, something. that said, i did really enjoy the 'live feed' on the site itself! the acting does feel a little weird at a couple points but not enough to be a major detraction, and i think its an interesting watch. also, the ghosts in the youtube videos are actually pretty well done even if the way its framed really throws off the feeling, and the viral video is actually pretty freaky

You picked an excellent topic this week. It played into a lot of my fears. Where "This House Has People In It" was moreso a performance art piece, this one was a bit more frightening. It took a lot of what I personally love and am freaked out by, like paranormal investigation (not what the video was of course about, but it had characteristics of paranormal investigation) as well as security camera footage and the underlying fear that something could jump out at any time, or affect the hacker himself. Just a lot of fear of the unknown in this one. I didn't make it through the full video, I'd rather wait until day time. But overall just an excellent video.

Your videos are so good that I keep rewatchin' them from time to time when you don't upload for a while, and everytime I come back, the see that your channel is growin' more and more! I remember when you had so much less subs and discussed your plans for this year and tbh You haven't let us down a single bit. Just stay a little more active on FB and keep us updatin' with what's on the way. Much love fam, keep doin' your thin' Nick! 🙌

This project looks like something you'd probably see as a video installation in some obscure art exhibition at London lmao. Never actually seen supernatural/horror installations but it oddly reminded me of my experimental film classes.

Hey Nick, just wanted to make a suggestion: Put jump scare warnings in your videos. I don't know about everyone who watches your stuff but I'm only here for the mystery. Part of the reason I watch you is to avoid the horror aspects. So I would say make annotations for when they are about to come, that way people who don't want to see it have warning and people who do can turn them off and still be frightened. I don't know, probably just giving you more work but I thought I'd say it.

There are very few videos on this channel i cant stomach, this house has people in it is one of them. I have to skip the intro when i watch this video but otherwise i love this. Thank you for the blurring out the skull bashing and slowing down the jumpscare Nick, i have a rather weak stomach and in a bad place to deal with jumpscares without risk of collapsing

Good god I've been rewatching this video all day. I think I have a problem. Lately your channel is the only one I can watch and all I've needed-- in a horror addict and this literally touches on every craving I have that movies rarely fulfill (along with things like this which I didn't even know I wanted until I found myself here!)I wish the vids themselves here had subs simply because their accents are pretty thick I think but also because I never actually could pinpoint when Matc doed_ so I was confused over that...God though what a tease leaving the series on that note. I guess it's a good thing in craving more though? Back when I was subscribed to Midnight Marinata still they described good horror and leaving you hanging at one point, not just laying it all out.I hope they go onto other projects or that you come across more like this soon. The more immersive the story is the better. That's part of what I love about this channel so much! In addition to everything you propose being interesting I also love the bit of characterizing you do to your whole persona- self doubt with Mikey the microphone, being on the run from the SCP organization I could go on forever but I don't wanna come off like a brown moser I'm just smitten with this channel and it's charismatic mascot kitten

You are simply the best in this category of YT videos. You have personality, are intuitive and purely brilliant. The problem with the other ones are is that either they have absolutely no personality- make videos just to make them and their fans actually put the pieces together better in the comments than they do or they talk aimlessly too fuckin much OR they try way too hard and just come across as a ass hats

I think as time goes on the information medium of horror movies is becoming the draw as technology makes the former barriers to entry disappear for traditional horror movies. Its no longer risky experiments to try anything but the 'friday night spook fest to scare teens and make a buck' when anyone can make a bad traditional horror movie and throw in things like the now infamous "video co pilot extending jaw screamer face" -see almost every other blumhouse film of the last few years. I think the crux of it is how horror is literally seen -when the ease of tech to make it is now here- as a by the numbers process. Back in University we were outright told "Horror is just a 6 point story: Isolation, loss of control of the situation, a challenge to overcome, all seems lost, the challenge is overcome, normalcy is apparently restored' and thats how its taught. With the lack of the experimental drive of practical effects and ease of digital pre loaded techniques a straight horror film isn't enough anymore. Sure you can gripe about mainstream horror films, how the current year alone has seen 4 separate films about kids living in walls pretending to be supernatural horror till the end, but its an issue with audience expectations as well. As those expectations change with the times so must the medium and in 1999 it was stuff like The Last Broadcast and the Blair Witch Project but even thats now seen as hokey thanks to things like Paranormal Activity. I think these sort of experiments -which on paper includes many tropes of traditional horror films- are worthwhile ventures in experimenting with execution. I mean the key to horror after all is "don't show it all, let the audience imagine something worse" and with things like this and 'This house has people in it" you pull the audience in not for a jump scare but to hope to see a little more as you tense up, question the source of this growing unease and never quite see the full picture. Multiple sources like this put together only muddies the waters visually in a way i think really serves to pull off what makes horror films truly effective: never knowing the 'why'. Why does there need to be a book in the cabin in the evil dead? who knows. Why was the family in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre so twisted? who cares. Why was Josh standing the basement facing the corner? what does it matter? The piece that ends not explaining the 'why' to the viewer is frustrating of course, but it is also the most effective because at the end of the day you are like the characters, uncertain and in the dark. Not knowing all the answers and just waiting for them to die and get it over with. It keeps you coming back to watch the same films again to notice something new or simply hope that you do. A mystery solved is never as satisfying as all the daydreams and nightmares over what it could be and as people strive for new creative ways to do this i think the creator here pulled off something very well even if the events, acting and progression in a vacuum were somewhat lacklustre. You didn't finish it complaining about the flaws, you ended it wanting to know what was wrong with the house and the best horror films remind us of life rather than let us escape it: Sometimes there is never going to be an answer. It just happens and you will never know why. Hands down my longest youtube comment ever but you dont go to college and university for years studying the theory behind this kind of thing to not get excited about new ways to tell stories!
