Had a '73 White Gan Torino wagon with the blue interior for business. It had a 351 Windsor. It must have been detuned for '73 and ran like a small 4 cylinder off the line. But was very comfortable accelerating past 55mph to 85 or 90 quickly.

A 351 in ‘73 would’ve only put out about 155 horsepower! Probably had 3.00 rear gears like I have that made it sluggish off the line, or maybe even a 2.79 rear gear. All for “better” efficiency.

Any updates on the wagon?

My Torino I was going to put an update video up, but there’s really not much. We ran fuel up from the actual tank and rust came through, so we have to take it out and get it sealed. Still runs great off a jerry can, though.

Any idea why this car was parked after only being driven for 6 years?

Transmission failure. My grandpa became a rural mail carrier after serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars, and I think all the stopping and starting might’ve done a number on the trans. That and the fact that the previous owners towed a boat with it using a bumper mounted hitch, and this car has no factory towing package. No trans cooler, 3.00 rear gear, etc.

Still have it. Hopefully getting it roadworthy here soon. I’ll be making some videos about that.

It really bothers me that cars become junk because of one bad part
