I am all in on this build, I am looking to chase similar hp for a couple of fb's but in a different way, using a 13b in a gslse and either a renesis or 12A in our race version.

Sir, I love your vids..........were privelaged to own a few rotors in the past, then oit for a few years..........blessed now to got hold of an rx7, in SA, you dont find them.......rolling chassis only. So excited for it's future.....will see p/port, or maybe std 13b turbo with a bit higher boost. Does not matter, I own a rotor again. Super blessed. Keep up the good work. Love the vids.

Oh man. I'm going to have to pull the NASTY carpet on the 81 I have. It has the typical holes in the beaver panel below the hatch but it also has an aftermarket sunroof that had leaked for who knows how many years. I peeked under the carpet edge and it looked OK and ok looking underneath. But this video tells me I need to pull carpet and insulation. I've been on the bubble about saving or parting it.

The 1 item I would want to change especially for track and street would be independent rear suspension. Driving these through tight and windy roads tends to step the back out more than it should. I don't know if you can modify the RX8 rear end to suit, maybe worth a look.

its a 13b Turbo from an FC rx7. Has some upgraded internals, but just a Street Port T2

Obviously a 13B from an S4 is higher in power, but does a 12A work good as a race engine for a circuit track with about 3 sessions?

Id suggest a 5 speed jdm trans from an early rx8. Handles power better. Same internals as rx7 5 speed. I love first gens. This will be a fun car.

I like the closer ratios of the 6 speed though. I don't think 300 wheel will stress that transmission too much.

Are those JDM rx8 trans similar to the FD transmission?

Works fine in my rew swapped rx8. Thats what i understand. Same internals as FD trans.

Bell housing and eveything bolted right up. Some exterior dimensions are slightly different. Not sure where shifter linkage would land inside a first gen though.

@@RADPotential i can get behind a M50/52, but k24's are the LS of 4bangers. bmw motors (assuming you mean a 6cyl) are kinda long, yes v8's fit but that's 4cyl long and V shaped 2 cyl wide. f20c/k24's are 4cyl long too. V10's/12's or I6's sound Longgggg imo for the bay

I am sticking an M42 BMW 4cyl into another Chassis. its super tall. Hopefully not sticking out of the hood like crazy!! 6cyl are super long!

sheewwwww,, GL! them k series are forged bottom ends and abundant in tsx's in junk yards, just sayin they'll hold 600hp stock block. never been a fan of the 4cyl bmw motors besides the 2002 units

For my power goals, and having that M42 laying around, why not use it. see how it holds up! K series is too easy haha
