The 1991 HARLEY DAVIDSON FXR gets SADDLEBAGS!!!

In this episode, we do another simple how-to for you all at home. Watch as Scott installs a set of aftermarket FXRP saddlebags to his 1991 FXRS just before he gets ready to take it on a 1300 mile round trip to Illinois. Regardless if you bought a brand new set of bags, or found a great deal on some OEM factory pieces, the tricks and tips shared in this video will help you comfortably install your very own set of RP saddlebags to your FXR using simple hand tools. As a special treat, Scott gives you a quick update on the other bikes in his garage, as well as introducing you to a set of saddlebag liners that may work for those of you looking to travel with your FXR's and like the convenience of quick pull out inserts. I've got a Thrashin Supply mission bag for the tall sissy bar on the dyna but always thought about saddle bags, you should be proud of the bikes in the stable, also the new FXR and the wifes bike should be called peaches and cream lol 😄

The bag liners are different sizes because the saddlebag on the exhaust side of a bmw gs has a cutaway for the muffler which makes it smaller

Yeah I noticed the exhaust goes behind the bag on the bmw. I’m assuming to keep it up high and out of the way

That bike so clean! I’ve got the FXR Division bags and love em but the V2H bags look more like stock I feel with the way the open. Are those the FXRP struts? I changed out to the RP struts before I mounted my bags

The fxr division bags are a better quality bag in my opinion. Their rails just seem to be clean and the over all look. The V2H rails aren’t perfect and almost have a 1” lean back meaning when you look at the bike from the side, the rear section of the bag is lower than the front. I’m going to see if I can fix that with a spacer on the bottom or something. And I’m still running the fxrs struts so my shocks are mounted in the forward hole.

Those backrest brackets always mess the paint up. Me personally I would get the quick detatch pods, that paint is way to nice. Just me tho

Honestly, the reason I put them back on was because the paint was messed up under them. Lol. Personally I wanted to do the boosted Brad detact setup, but with the scuffs from the plates before, I figured to just cover them back up with the plates. 😂😂

ended up selling the V2H hardbags for some leatherpros V3…the hardbags ended up cracking on me

I have heard others have the same issue. Fingers crossed all goes well, but if they do crack, I’ll be switching to LPs as well!
