 ewing got houston n larry in. 97 .. I was still very much himself. But i will give u by 99 n got spree he wasnt the same guy.... Unfortunately we never got to see what that 97 team could have done.. That team was loaded but the fight fucked them..I honestly believe that team in 97 would have been a war with the bulls in. Ecf…they had a squad that was capable of beating Chicago ..

I'm from Boston, but growing up I was the biggest Knicks fan. I had all their jerseys, my room was all Knicks stuff. Celtics stunk in the 90s and knowing Ewing went to high school in Boston, he was my guy. I hate that he always gets overlooked cause he never won the title, but he was a great player. I'm glad the Knicks are in the playoffs again and I'd love to see them win the title soon.

Imagine if Patrick Ewing would have went to Thee Indiana Pacers with the 2nd. pick of the 1985 NBA Draft. He probably would of played with Thee Great Reggie Miller most of if not all of his Pro. career. And then they both more than likely would have won multiple rings, heck at least one.

This is ridiculous. Willis Reed won 2 championships. Basketball is a team game and a team winning championships is the only goal. Ewing was a great player but he failed to win a championship during his career. RIP Willis Reed - THE CAPTAIN of THE NY KNICKS and the best center the team ever had.

Greatest player never to win a championship in all of professional sports period. Greatest player to also unfortunately play for one of the worst front offices in nba history. Jordan as great as he was had Pippen. Shaq had Kobe then D.Wade. Olajuwon had Drexler for atleast one of his title runs. And Robinson had Duncan. Get it ! Ewing missed Bernard King by one knee injury and LJ after back issues derailed his hall of fame career. No excuses just facts !!!

Shame that king and ewing never got to have run together 🤦‍♂️ Ewing Lundqvist Mattingly all beloved by NY because we know winning is hard. Team sports success is hard to get. Esp Ewing and Lundqvist they nevr had an elite superstar next to them. At this point we look back and reflect. They didnt win, that is incomparable to their impact on their franchises. Their legacies are permanent.

Pat Ewing was a choke artist. He played 63 playoff games where he shot under 45%. In the 1994 finals against Hakeem he shot .363 as Hakeem shot 50% and was outscored 27 to 19. Gutless basketball and countless times in a big spot I'd watch him clank foul shots or settle for fadeaway shots. I'd be screaming it's Bill Cartwright, take the goddamn ball to the basket or Rick Smits. Look at these games against Rick Smits? 4 for 15, 8 for 21, 4 for 9, 11 for 24, 0 for 10, 10 for 23, 4 for 10, 9 for 22, 12 for 27, 3 for 11, 6 for 16, 4 for 13, 7 for 16. WTF Rick Smits, not Wilt Chamberlain or Bill Russell or Lew Alcindor that Willis played against. In the 1970 playoffs before Willis was injured early in game 5 of the finals, Willis Reed scored 266 points and had 120 rebounds against Alcindor and Wilt in 9 games in a row! Not Rick Smits! Lets see if Ewing dominated Cartwright? 9 for 20, 8 for 17, 5 for 15, 3 for 7, 8 for 22, 7 for 16, 5 for 16, 5 for 14, 8 for 19, 13 for 31, 4 for 12, 11 for 25, 7 for 16, 9 for 21, 7 for 17. WTF Bill Cartwright who we called Mr Softee! How about Luc Longley? 9 for 23, 9 for 19, 10 for 21 Luc Blanking Longley and in 3 playoff games in a 5 game series Ewing was 28 for 63! Are we for real with this choke artist? Willis Reed in the 1969 amazing 6 game series against Bill Russell that went 6 games and the Knicks lost games 4 and 6 by ONE POINT in Boston Garden. Maybe Boston got the calls in Boston Garden? Reed shot 56 for 110 scoring 144 points with 81 rebounds. No gagging by Willis against Bill Russell in 1969. 24 and 13.5 shooting 51% Bill Russell played all 48 minutes in 5 of the 6 games and 40 in the other game and yet look at how great Reed was? The nonsense for this Pat Ewing is ridiculous! Rick Smits, Luc Longley, Bill Cartwright? Lets not forget that Ewing had the best team in College three years going 99 and 13 and yet they lost two NCAA title games. He won ONE NCAA title in 3 tries. We should of known in 1985 he was gutless and to think the media compared him to Bill Russell! Lets be honest Pat Ewing can't carry Willis Reed's jockstrap!
@mikeymag7
@mikeymag7 Жыл бұрын
You seem to forget his numbers weren't as great in the playoffs because defenses were able to swarm on him since he basically was the only one that could score and they all knew the ball was going to Ewing.
@jacksmith5692
@jacksmith5692 Жыл бұрын
@@mikeymag7 They swarmed on all great players and some step up and some don't. Kareem without Magic won 1 NBA title and that was lucky because Willis Reed injured his shoulder in the 1971 playoffs and Jabbar was 6 and 15 against Reed and that was the dominate 30 and 16 Jabbar. Ewing played the old, bald Kareem grabbing 5 -6 rebounds a game and shot 41% being totally intimidated as Kareem shot 58%. Ewing was gutless and who was swarming him at the foul line as he clanked shot after shot in the playoffs? When Rick Smits and Bill Cartwright dominate you it's pathetic and even Luc Longley! In college he had the best teams and won 1 NCAA title! He was always a choke artist!
