Dr Berg please - we HIGHLY need a comprehensive video in which you cover MTHFR mutations and your advice how to fix the methylate cycle if you have it. This is such a common mutation affecting over 50% of population, that doesn't even know. I have it too, like many others, would be SO great if you could please make a video on this and on how to fix it, and which vitamins/supplements to take and which to avoid. You never covered this I think as standalone topic, but would be so helpful. Thanks!

Sharing Dr Berg notes on this important episode! Methylcobalamin is vitamin B12, and it’s essential for DNA, red blood cells, and your myelin sheath. Vitamin B12 also helps support your spinal column and brain. If you’re deficient in vitamin B12, you could experience tingling, numbness, or burning sensations. Other signs of vitamin B12 deficiency can include: • Chronic pain • Depression • Muscle wasting • Blurry vision • Tinnitus • Anemia • Mouth ulcers • Sore throat • Hair loss You could also experience symptoms if you have too much vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 toxicity will typically occur if you’re taking too much synthetic vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin)-not the natural version (methylcobalamin). Cyanocobalamin can build up in the body and cause symptoms such as: • Acne • Palpitations • Anxiety • Red cheeks • Headaches • Insomnia • Akathisia • Suicidal thoughts You could be deficient in vitamin B12 long before you start to feel any effects. But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t damage being done. One of the first symptoms you would eventually feel is extreme fatigue. Foods high in vitamin B12 are animal products. There is no vitamin B12 in plants. Top causes of vitamin B12 deficiency: • Malabsorption • Plant-based or vegan diets • Gastric bypass • Atrophy of the stomach • Gastritis • H. pylori infection • Ulcers • Inflammation in the intestines • Aspirin • Alcohol • Junk foods • Antibiotics • Antacids or PPIs • Birth control pills • Pregnancy • Lactation • Smoking • Polymorphism Thank you Dr Berg! 🐱👍🏿

The former had about 21,380 ratings as opposed to the latter with 10,800 ratings. I had my mind made up to buy the most popular one of course, but decided to watch one of Dr. Berg's video on vitamins B12. Wouldn't you know it, my original choice was NOT the right one! I will take both. Although distinct differences exist between methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin, both have beneficial effects on health and can prevent B12 deficiencies (12Trusted Source). In fact, one study found that treating seven B12-deficient people with oral methylcobalamin normalized vitamin B12 levels in their blood within just 2 months (13Trusted Source). Similarly, another study showed that taking cyanocobalamin capsules for 3 months also increased vitamin B12 levels in 10 people with pernicious anemia, a condition caused by impaired B12 absorption (14Trusted Source). Both types of the vitamin may also provide other health benefits. One review of seven studies showed that both methylcobalamin and a vitamin B-complex containing cyanocobalamin were effective in reducing symptoms of diabetic neuropathy, a complication of diabetes that leads to nerve damage (15Trusted Source). Additionally, several animal studies have found that each form could have neuroprotective effects and may be beneficial in treating conditions that affect your nervous system (16Trusted Source, 17Trusted Source).

@luminous6969 Жыл бұрын
Move to R.umble aka voting with your feet. KZbin and other giant companies only understand the language of losing market share to their competitors, that's the only thing that'll make them change. They're so scared that I had to put a period in the word R.umble cos it keeps deleting the comment cos they don't want people telling other people to move to R.umble.

I was taking Lansoprazole for TWENTY ONE years !! Rec3ntly did a retired nurse friend told me about it . They were shocked that the varous GPs in different places I've lived in over the years had never picked up on it , even though my Vit B 12 levels are always on the low side and I take 800mg capsules . So I asked my current GP to wean me off the Lansoprazole and am almost free of it , just another few alternate days. Then it will be interesting to see if my Vit B 12 level increases . 🤔

how much B12 Methylcobalamin do we take in a supplement?

Ur daily needs are 2.4mcg, but most supplements of methylcobalamin comes in 500mcg+, so supplement with 500mcg for a month and then after a month take them weekly because b12 gets stored in the liver in large amounts, but make sure to take active b9 methylfolate or l 5 mthf (400mcg is the daily requirement) with active b12, b9 also gets stored but in much lower amounts, so b9 supplementing should be daily. Or every 2 to 3 days, unless it's 4 to 5 times the daily requirement then supplementing with it weekly is good

I am currently taking a vitamin mix which has lots of vitamins in it. It also has vitamin B12 in it, but only 3 micrograms. Is that enough to raise my levels? And I have read that a vitamin B12 deficiency over a long period of time can cause serious physiological and psychological damage because it can damage nerve cells. I am now a bit worried that the same thing will happen to me. How likely is that? 2 months ago I had an MRI and a nerve conduction test as well as a brain wave test based on a different diagnosis. Everything there was normal. I think this kind of damage would be detected there, right? And is it true that a vitamin B12 deficiency takes 6 months to 1 year to fully recover? Sorry in advance for the many questions 😬🙏🏼.

I have Pernicious Anemia and MTHFR. Both affect B12. I find methyl groups convert to fast so Hydroxocobalmin works best.
