Possibly for end of month: We see a lot of these 4K monitors with refresh rates. However getting high FPS simultaneously with 4K is no easy task, especially while using Ray Tracing. So my question is: could manufacturers produce a say 90Hz max refresh rate monitor with VRR and use those "savings" in order to improve other aspects of the performance (bringing the cumulative deviation and ghosting rates down across the VRR range, and improving color accuracy overall) or even lower costs and selling price? Also cutting their fake HDR support while they're at it, imho. Or is this just not how monitor building works? Thanks.

Thank you to Tim for reviewing this product. I would suggest that every single future monitor advertised as "HDMI 2.1" needs to be checked for the bandwidth available on those ports. It is so depressing to read the spec of this monitor on Gigabyte's website. It reads in the note: "HDMI 2.1 supports PS5 and Xbox Series X at 4K UHD@120Hz (4:2:0)". What does this mean? Does it mean 4K/120 8-bit 4-2-0 (18 Gbps) or 4K/120 10-bit 4-2-0 (20 Gbps)? Can it process 4K/120 10-bit signal from consoles and GPUs at 18 Gbps? The HDMI spec would not allow this. Does the monitor support TMDS signalling only or FRL too? If it supports FRL, does it support FRL3 only (up to 24 Gbps), FRL4 (up to 32 Gbps), etc.? Tim, could you please, check this with Gigabyte? There has been so much inadequate marketing of HDMI 2.1 features and port speeds.

Not informed at all, but if I had to guess, 27" and 31" panels have probably just been standardized for so long that they would need to retool something to make 33" a thing. Currently, "not worth the investment".

All I’m saying is there is a big gap in 16:9 display size between 33”- 40”. And it is the biggest gap in display size between 17”- 65” (in inches).

Hopefully they will start making monitors in that range of sizes going forward, especially with 4K high refresh slowly becoming more available. 16:9 at 40inch diagonal in an ergonomic monitor format would be amazing, especially in 4K at high Hz.

Still waiting on the LG 42 inch OLED 120Hz. Maybe it will have Variable refresh rate. Cross my fingers.

How much extra do you have to pay for exploding panels?

Nice review, but why do you use US pricing in Australia?

HI Hardware Unboxed what difference are between M32U and AORUS FI32U ??? I don't know which one to buy of the 2 for 4k gaming.

I can’t wait for you to review the new lg ultragear ultrawide that just came out

Is the M28U really 600 dollars in the US? It is 780 euro over here, making it much closer in pricing to the FI32U as that one is 999 euro.

Sooo if for example this monitor was sold for 800 dollars instead, and called a different letter, it would be a good deal, right? 🤔 I think I just found my new screen (M32U).
