You're completely right on the fact that usually people don't realize the functions they use daily. As an INFJ myself, I learned to distinguish when people use Ni. This is one of the main reasons why this function is so undervalued. People don't realize what it corresponds to in their daily life. Every time someone has to guess without having facts available or enough trust to judge for example, they can't use their JUDGING functions (F/T) precisely and have to rely on intuition. They don't realize they're using Ni then. The main issue from my personal observations is that Ni is usually confused with Ti. Sometimes we say something is probably a certain way because "it's logical". But it is more a missuse of language because we tend to say that even for things that don't have to do with the logical method and when we don't have factual evidence to back it up. It's just based on accumulated PERCEPTIONS (N/S) that formed certain patterns we recognize as making sense. And this is thanks to Ni because it seems to be so obvious, it's undeniable for us despite the fact we don't use precise facts. It's pure intuition to succeed to take a decision anyway. Actually we don't see it as we need precise facts anymore cause Ni has already done the work for us with pattern recognition to guide us beyond logic and trust. Ti users might be more qualified to identify this because it comes down to internal logic and admitting when your point has nothing to do with logical reasoning and logical arguments but still feels right to you. Infuriating thing with Ni is credit is never given to it when it's due. It's so unusual for society to come across someone who genuinely has great skills for anticipating things that it's not even trusted or interpretd as supernatural. And since it is future oriented, you can always attribute it to a coincidence when you've actually seen everything coming in your brain but there is so many data points that led to this conclusion that it would take too much time. For people to acknowledge Ni they have to acknowledge it from themselves first or they'll don't understand it's just a normal thing human beings are capable of. People don't believe in their power to shape the future. Now you'll understand why some Ni users are constantly facepalming and thinking most people are dumb, looking at blind people who can't identify patterns and they make you pass for crazy when what you said will most likely happen soon because of precise data points that are likely to lead to a particular future but most can't see anything. Many things people think are unpredictible and out of their control actually aren't. They're just bad at controlling their destiny by seeing the full picture to make it simple. And of course you'll appear as pretentious and smug cause you're not among the majority despite the fact you're right and you're among the few who can see it is. And even if you're right, they'll say it's just a coincidence when it's not. It's a cognitive process. Of course it's necessary to mention Ni users aren't always right but so aren't all types on other things and yet Introverted Intuition will take it so much more violently because no one will excuse you for bad predictions. Yet they excuse you for not being sure of what you desire or for making logical mistakes because it's very common. If you happen to be wrong once with Ni it's directly interpreted as prediction skills and Ni aren't a thing and don't exist while such thing won't be said about feeling or thinking. And so Ni is completely alienated.

The Yin Ni in the video is what I usually refer to as the metaphysical or more philosophical side of Ni that reflects on the structure of reality itself to look at it externally and question it to understand its very nature on a cosmic level. We could summarize it as searching to understand the will of god, the meaning of all things in the universe or connecting with spirituality (which is why spriruality and Ni are usually assimilated to religion but it's not necessarely the case. It's mainly questioning the invisible. Most people don't realize they need this in their life. But I blame them for not being more open minded when they're left into the unknown and automatically rejecting what they don't understand. This is probably the main problem that prevents humanity from growing and becoming a wiser species.

As an INFJ I see myself using both styles of Ni. For me I use analytical, strong focus; through my drive if I am doing something it needs to be connected to a biger purpose. But for me I tend to hyper focus on a couple overarching goals at once but of course this causes periods of burnout. For the holistic, Oracle; I am constantly putting myself in positions of guidance for others. I also share alot of spiritual wisdom within the faith that I am apart of. In a way I juggle hyper focus on my own goals, with hyper focus on getting others to achieve their goals and with a hyper foucus on making the world a better place; all that under the guidance of my faith.

@@GeekPsychology Wow that’s a great question! So, there is a kind of back and forth balance. So it would be focus on self, so that I can help others so that I can make the world a better place. Then circle back to fulfilling personal goals, which usually have something to do with making the world a better place or helping others like family fulfill their goals.

I don't even consider it to be two different styles myself. I think it's just a use of Ni on a different scale personally. The understanding of Ni of the butterfly effect is what they use daily to navigate in life and deal with sensory activities but when the mind can think about more abstrcat phenomenons it can start seeing the whole picture of reality itself pretty much to question it from an external point of view. Biggest strength of Ni is it can extract you from reality to look at it with an external point of view and question the Se reality without having to be distracted by sensory stimulations. That's how you can see all the possibilities, all the potential scenarios and use your experience to determine and work for the better scenarios. But to achieve it you must not receive sensory stimulations and enter in a more meditative state which is more or less what Ni is all about. Being too into the moment and interacting too much is what makes you miss the big picture basically. If people can't stay alone with their own mind and not be bored, they're likely to have bad Ni because nothing comes out of quiet reflexion.

I find it fascinating how building on different cognitive functions can build our neuroplasticity. Specifically for me, Ni is built on pattern recognition. (starded in kindergarten) It is helpful to practice guessing what will happen in movies and books. Rewatching movies and looking for foreshadowing and clues can also help you to learn how to intuitively no what is going to happen in the future in real life, in real time.

@@GeekPsychology In kindergarten we had a list of min tests for kindergartners and if you could do them you got to fill in a balloon on your paper. Then at open house our parents saw us demonstrate our skills. I believe it was noted by the teacher that I had good sorting skills. My parents were proud that I could sort things in various ways such as color, size, shape, common use and other ways they could be grouped. Apparently I seemed more advanced than the other students to them. Also I was very good at knowing what shape will come next on texts.

There is something about INFPs that I trust them. Both genders. For Ni doms I think is smart to create a set of principles that you revisit daily and update them. And adding there probably at the top to trust your intuition, even if wrong, the feedback will improve it. And is also just fun operating this way - INTJ

I am INTJ with both Ni abilities. I sign the unity of the both brings balance in all of life and personality, but also balance between other functions. Transparency what Jung talked about becomes evident when you put your full potential of the function in play. This journey to use your best functions is also a developmental request from the unconscious, regardless the type, become curious of this individuation process what Jung talked about and understanding your type experiencially is the asset to that. All capacity can turn out dysfunctional without the balance of other functions and owning all of them within. A lot of these type descriptions is seen as content of the personality while the archtypes are below the surface of all thinking and evolution as type or consciousness is about becoming aware of transparency. Awareness makes it possibile to realize how to use your whole potential with wisdom and allows the access to shadows too so that they can be integrated and show up as normal behaviour with integrity and wisdom.

Once again, i find that i was more yang in prior years, but I've since given up on those visions as they are no longer practical nor achievable. So i sit with my losses, and i churn every mistake. I tread in the empty, the void, the abyss. Call it whatever you'd like. I know where i am on this journey. Im stuck in a place where i can not accept various things that I've done in this life. Evil, cold, harmful things. To myself, as well as to others. This inability to face my darkness has left my "soul" scattered in the wind, shattered into a myriad of pieces. I know this is the final stage of the abyss, but i just can't let go of everything and everyone I've lost. I can't forgive myself. I refuse to.

I like both versions. I'm an ENFJ, so Ni is my second function. It took me a very long time to trust my intuition because everyone around me and in general puts much more value and weight on facts and proof and tangible, sensory stuff. Things you can point to, use words for and put in a ranking or some kind of order structure. That said, I do like structure a lot. I don't like chaotic things. I also don't like open endings in movies or stories... I'm the type that will wait for an entire series to come out and then binch watch the whole thing. However... phantasy, imaginary, holistic, patterns, options, connections, coulda-woulda-shoulda's... all that is also me.

I think I'm an INFJ who leans toward Oracle, I would rather be Visionary because it seems to be more active and more focused on achievements, but my head is always in a state of whether anything I build for humanities future would even make a difference in a 1000 years. Most people assign purpose to their lives with how successful they are based on societies interpretation of success. They equate success in life to how happy they are as well. Is life simply about being happy? The way I see it, societies rise and fall within centuries, immortality can't exist so the only reasonable purpose worth living for is a spiritual one. Your body breaks down, your mind erodes, but your spirit dwells for eternity. Why would my focus be on treatments instead of the cure for the disease within us? So I believe Oracle is my lean in this situation.
