Love the list and happy to have you back! Will be checking out many of these. I know it’s a bit basic, but I was really surprised to not see Magdalena Bay on the list, that one’s my #1 of the year. Some of the catchiest hooks, most beautifully orchestrated instrumentals with gorgeous harmonies, plus these proggy elements throughout that kind of catch you off guard in the best way right when you start to get used to the bright, glittering synth pop. Would love to know your thoughts on it!

YES I almost screamed when I saw your number 1 pick, it's such a great and amazing album that's been flying under the radar of a lot of people and I hope this gives it more listeners. It's as unique as it gets, and yet despite its weirdness it's poignant in how it captures grief and suffering. Vida Blue is something special. And great list overall! A few artists I thought were gonna make your cut where Magdalena Bay, Cindy Lee, Chat Pile, Mount Eerie and Nicolas Jaar, but I really agree with most of your choices and excited to listen to the ones I didn't know before.
