Hmm not sure if it realy was that significant. i haven't done it yet but it looks like a coaster i'm gonna enjoy a lot. But its just a combinataion of things already done before for a park that should be catering for this kind of audiance. Now having said that they did it exceptionaly well as far as i can judge it from clipps. But i'm an expereint enthousiast so you might be right for the GP.
@matheuscastello6554Ай бұрын
@ it was the most expensive roller coaster in the world when it opened, and the first to feature a fast switch track technology! that last part alone is absolutely revolutionary (as you can see pantheon made the video) and so is the first part (as you can see guardians made the video)! and on top of that it also has a bunch of launches and special elements like you mentioned. it definitely would deserve its spot in the list had it opened in 2020 or later
@arturobianco848Ай бұрын
@@matheuscastello6554 I forgot about that fast switch track. If that was a first then i was wrong and it should be on the list at least for the decade before. Being the most expensive one i don't think is that significant just means sombody build something with large pockets. As for pantheon for me that shouldn't be on this list so that another no good argument. Haven't done gardian yet so no opnion if that realy should be on it. To be honest i thought this was one of the worst clipps they have ever made.

The most insane thing about the innovations of the first five years of the 2020s is how it shows that a lot of the innovation of Intamin, Mack and Vekoma has been to now also manage the insanely cool tricks that RMC pioneered. I think RMC's impact on the industry cannot be overstated. I feel like they have basically pioneered the idea that rollercoaster elements needn't follow any particular formula, instead only the effective G-forces matter. This, combined with improvements in track production has lead to some of the most insane-looking (but often surprisingly non-insane to ride) elements lately. It also, in my opinion, shows that B&M has some catching up to do. They had a winning formula, with very smooth implementations of cool rollercoasters, but a lot of their elements now feel a bit more cookie cutter, and their unique selling point of smoothness is no longer as present, with RMC, Intamin, Vekoma and Mack also being perfectly capable of doing that now.
@MattMcIrvinАй бұрын
I'm going to vote for the most under-the-radar important coaster of the 2020s also being one of the most important of the 1970s: the Kings Island Racer. Why? It was, as far as I can tell, the first deployment of Gravity Group's precut retrack, which is quietly in the process of saving the wooden roller coaster from vanishing.
@0z3r0Ай бұрын
For me i would say TRH and Kondaa are the most significant. They finally putted my country on the rollercoaster list. Before we only had mediocre rides at best.

I would argue Mandrill Mayhem because it lead the way for kid focused parks, such as Legoland Germany, to add Roller Coasters with inversions. This is what also probably made Intamin to create the Family LSM Coaster model that can too, feature inversions for kids to experience.

At least from a Scandinavian perspective I have got to say Fønix at Fårup Sommerland. Even if its not the most special new Vekoma looper out there, it not only broke the tallest coaster record in Denmark by a landslide, but it also finally put Danish theme parks on the map for a ton of enthusiasts, including you 2, who finally got to discover what until then had been hidden gems in regards to parks. Plus in that sense it has also served as a ton of enthusiasts introduction to the new Vekoma thrill coasters as a whole! So it has been a massive statement and showpiece for both Vekoma, and all the theme parks of Denmark. Though beyond that, Monster at Gröna Lund and Storm the Dragon Legend at Tusenfryd probably also deserve honorable mentions. Monster for its incredible engineering fitting a whole B&M Invert into such a tight space in an already widely built up compact park. And Storm for being the first Gerstlauer Invert and showing how Gerstlauer too is also pushing into new directions with their products.
@CoasterStudiosАй бұрын
Fønix and Storm are great ones! Definitely would've been runner ups.

The interesting thing about F.L.Y, though, is that it *hasn't* been more influential. Nobody else has bought one of these. Even the original Flying Dutchman models were more popular. I wonder why that is. Is it just too expensive? I have the same question about Pipeline, the Surf Coaster. I'd have expected a bunch more of these to appear or at least be announced, but they haven't, at least not yet. Maybe parks are generally wary of non-sit-down rides in this era, though these seem like less extreme, slightly more family-friendly rides than the flying and standup coasters that existed in the past.

Personally, I find it unfortunate how TT2 is being managed. Beyond the fact that there’s more to the world than just B&M and Intamin coasters-and that smaller, less experienced companies deserve a fair chance to prove themselves-Intamin itself has encountered difficulties with the rides in question. It’s not as if every Intamin or B&M installation is automatically top-notch. I’d be pleased if Zamperla could rescue the situation, as the ride looks truly impressive. And for anyone who feels the need to point out that the original layout was designed by Intamin, I’m aware of that. Even so, it still takes a lot of courage to rebuild and renovate such a massive structure.
