20 years to this day the Detroit Pistons accomplished one of the greatest upsets in NBA history, beating a heavily favored Lakers team in convincing fashion
As a Lakers fan I wish things went different but I'm glad the Pistons of that era were able to win at least one ring to be immortalized as one of the greatest TEAMS in NBA history. What they lacked in superstars they made up for in stars and unselfish basketball on both ends

I graduated that year in high school. In Massachusetts. I remember we always talking about the Pistons. The Celtics today. Remind me a lot of them. Savages when it comes to defense. Can put up 100+ points to. Very similar teams.

Offensive Shaq is up there with Hakeem, Wilt, and Kareem. but on defense, shaq isnt great.. one example, one of main reasom lakers lost to detroit is because rebound. Also his offense is limited, in all finals game he gets 55 free throw but only made 49%. thats not efficient.. detroit tactics exploit shaq weakness.

All of those guys were way past retirement. Everybody has their moments. This is a different era compared to the guys that you're mentioning, so it's not like they were going to face them anyway. You don't have to like it, but respect that they did beat 5 HOFs: Shaq, Kobe, GP, and Malone.
