I think the Tahoe 07-14 looked better and sportier that Yukons of that era. Those Tahoes are still stylish today.
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
Indeed. The Tahoes of that era looked aggressive too.

I own a Yukon and I agree. I sought it out because of the Denali trim’s more reliable 6.2 V8 and 6 speed. I like the chrome, but I prefer the Tahoe’s front and rear end

The Yukon looks badass after installing a leveling kit or mild front lift 💪

I’ve owned several suburban years (02, 01, 08, 13, 09, and currently an 03) over the last 13 years. I can firmly say that the GMT800s are better built than the GMT900s and have less issues overall. I’m looking forward to your breakdown of them!
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
Yeah the GMT400s and 800s were absolute tanks. A relative owned an 01 Yukon with the 5.3 and it had very close to 400k miles and still ran great with minor issues.
@ogaliefАй бұрын
The GMT 900 is very reliable too. Especially if you disable the AFM. The GMT 800 has Lexus reliability - where the 900 has Honda reliability. I wouldn’t touch the 2015+ with a ten foot pole
@NEONPARADlSEАй бұрын
@ my 08 and 09 were 2500s to avoid AFM specifically! Still, blend door failures, door locks failing, cracked dashes, lots of interior rattles, and contestant AC issues plagued all three of my 900s. That said, the 800s are all getting so old that there’s a lot of age related part replacements going on for me (ac compressor, intake manifold gasket, seat cushions, suspension components).

@@NEONPARADlSE I definitely wish my 2011 Denali had seats as comfortable as the previous generation. Though they still are very comfortable. It seems that they had to make some sacrifices in fit and finish in order to add all of the new features - while keeping the price competitive. Thankfully the parts are cheap and easy to replace. Sadly, it’s probably the last reliable American car ever made. I sought out the GMT 900 because of the improved 6 speed transmission. Otherwise, I would have went for a 2006 Escalade

I think they were trying to appeal more to female buyers with the 2007 redesign
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
That’s exactly what they were planning. You’re right.

Trucks in my opinion were never meant for women to drive , since they are the worst drivers too.

While I prefer the more squared off lines of the earlier GMT400 and even 800 cars, I think the 07 Yukon (and sister Tahoe/Suburban) was pretty well styled. I still see a lot of this generation GM SUV out on the road today. The big downsides to these cars were the addition of cylinder deactivation on the otherwise excellent LS V8s (aside from the 4.8 that seemed pretty rare in the SUVs), and the seats not being as comfortable as the earlier, overstuffed seats. They were really some of the most comfortable ever made.
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
I still see a lot of the 900s too. Some police departments here in Florida still have their 900s on the road. I’m not saying the GMT900s were terribly styled, I just like the look of the 400 and it’s successor better. But the 900 was definitely more refined, and with more tech and beef under the hood, so I give it that.

The 2007 was a huge decline in quality. I worked at a dealership like 13 years ago. We had a used 2007 Denali. The leather / vinyl mix seats felts painfully cheap and we’re splitting and peeling on the sides. Plastics and fake trims were deplorable and the chrome was peeling off the wheels making razor sharp lifted edges that could slice your hands. I remember the old 2000 to 2006 models to have a rather nice fit n finish with nice materials

Thank you for the video. I did not like the front end styling of the 2007-2014 model. That was the only thing wrong with this vehicle was the front end styling. I will say since then they have been better looking vehicles. These vehicles did well in the market. It is interesting how more upscale they have become as well. GM is in that comfortable spot in the GM lineup.
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
Agreed. It would’ve been nice if the 2007 Yukon had the front end of the 2007 Sierra, kinda like what the GMT400 and GMT800s did. I understand Wayne Cherry wanted it to have its own identity, but it would’ve looked more rugged and aggressive, like a real truck should, not like an aspiring soccer mom vehicle haha!
@OLDS98Ай бұрын
@@MotorMaster_Stunticon That front end was better than what it got. The one it had had no character and those headlights do not help. The Envoy had a similar grille, but it was not ugly like this. Wayne Cherry had the right idea as GMC has become more aggressive in the years since.

Better than a Ford Expedition? Thats not even a question, Ford puts zero effort into their SUVs (which I'll be going into precise detail on why the Expedition is mediocre in a video soon) There's a reason GM owns 60% of the fullsize SUV market.

I’ve heard that the 2025 versions of the vehicles themselves are out already and ready for use from any GMC dealers. Some people actually made videos about it like this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqGvgqt-brmVabcsi=W7Dq4n6I8yDpJ8--
