Incredible design. Beautiful yet wide and aggressive, but too much chrome on the exterior. My neighbor has a 2019 in White/brick interior. He took it to a body shop and blacked out the chrome side window trims, the chrome line running through the tail lights, and the front grille and gave it a window tint. It completely transforms the car. It looks incredible and is easily the best looking car in that segment with those minor alterations.
@jimj2683

Blacked out chrome looks so cheap. They should design the cars without those trims alltogether for a much cleaner look. Kind of like the new Range Rover did without any trim around the windows.

Seems nice but price (and manufacturer profit) put this out of reach of most folks. Who buys a car that costs as much as a college education? Leaving 60k in your 401k for 25 years and driving a 10k car will put about $250k in your retirement, perhaps 3 years living expenses. Audi, where's the $30k reliable mid size sedan? Oh. I love the new Audis, but this is so boring looking I cannot imagine a sedan buyer who would prefer it over at a5 sportback or a7. Or if you have the $ for this you probably can afford an a8. Or an r8. So I guess someone will buy it but it could really use some styling differentiation.

I'm a chauffeur in Australia, and the base model A6 is MUCH cheaper than the A8. I need the rear head room, so the A6 makes more sense than the A7. I also think the boot/trunk of the A6 is very good - better than the paper specs suggest. It passes my "two very large suitcases" test - not many cars do. Btw, we get a front-wheel drive only version here. (the A40).
@doubleyewgee
@doubleyewgee Жыл бұрын
The A5 is built on the A4 platform. The A6 provides much larger interior space and a better ride quality since it shares the same larger platform as the A7/A8. It also costs a lot less than the A7 or A8 for those who don’t want go that far financially.

@@Vazin Only one... One too many. But it was an older one that you did not have to remove the front of the car to do an oil change. It was a 4000 quattro. We only had to tape the windows up. A new screw laying on the floorboard every time we climbed into the car. And an overspeed scream idle problem and more. But we did get over 200,000 miles on it. Some had a problem with them slipping into drive or reverse and running over people. There was a class action lawsuit over that. Although that never happened to us. I mainly owned Mercedes, BMW and Porsche. But we did have one Audi in the family.. Only one. Also.. We always buy/pay cash. In other words we own all our cars. Never lease or borrow. We always own them. Also I had one Toyota Corolla Station wagen back then. Got it stuck in the snow and broke the transmission going from R to D trying to rock it out of the snow. Only did it a few times. And it broke. Never owned another Toyota until recently as these new Toyota Lexus cars are good for sure. I recommend them if you can afford them. If you can afford an Audi, you can afford a Lexus. Way better than any German these days. If the Germans would make a car as reliable, I would consider buying one. Currently there are several class action lawsuits against these new Audis over transmission problems. Terrible for sure! MY sister inlaw works for Audi in Neckersulm. She is an Engineer. My brother in law just retired from Alfa Romeo. I love their calendars bty. Anyway.. Long on wind here. You want a new POS Audi, knock yourself out. Consider leasing one instead. Your dime. "Any work" Is a bit of an exaggeration. I think that it is easier than to try to work on a car with so much tech to take the front off than screw with it from above. A lot of people that worked on cars over the decades never had to do it, so you get used to never having to take the front of the car off. Over the years, I've accepted the fact that I'd rather pay someone to take the front of the car off and get in there and fix something properly than have that person charge me 20-30% more labour time to fix it incorrectly from just under the hood. Like and investment, you do what the numbers say, not what your emotions say. I've had to take the front of the car off once to replace an expensive alternator and that was with a 4.2 V8 which was stuffed deep in there. My 3.0 V6 has tons of room, cheaper (common) alternator and was designed to be serviced easier with accessibility in mind. PS There is a "service position" where you loosen the front and don't have to take it off. The last time I even had to change a sparkplug was on my Mustang in 1987. All my cars since then came with 100 000 mile platinum plugs. On my Taurus SHO, you had to drill holes in the floor to replace the clutch. When you have a lot of tech jammed in a small space, that's going to happen.
