You can press next track on the steering wheel by configuring either the left or right touch pad.

And you can keep the right screen in a mixed mode of Navigation and Media. In this stage, your right thump touchpad on the steering wheel serves as a track selector!

Yeah, and on older models you can change a central display from speedometer to current track and then use buttons to change track. Except that it's not very convinient. Especially on my generation, where display is integrated in the speedometer. While it looks gorgeous, the needle is shortened and i am relying on a big digital speedometer 100% of the time.

You forget to mention however some quirks: in the trunk Mercedes has stopt dressing the top of the trunk, so no upholstery, I also do not agree with the way the center console opens as it adds a lip on both sides of the storage compartment which decreases its accessibility, But do keep up the excellent work!! ^^

Doug , FYI almost all MB cars ( from 2000+ ), including yours , have that positive battery access, so a service or a change off the battery is done through it. Once you give power to that socket, you can change your battery without causing any problem to your car's systems. greetings from Greece.

I think if you want to change the track on your steering wheel instead of reaching out to the center console you can also dial in the audio settings in the gauge display and simply do it using the touch pads. But I figured out the problem in general, too. So two simple buttons would have been great.

TRACK CONTROLS ON STEERING WHEEL Doug, You do have a next track button on the steering wheel but unfortunately it only works when you have the center screen in your gauge binnacle set to AUDIO. The left arrow UP/DOWN buttons will change track in this mode. Also, did you ever notice the strange quirk/feature of the front passenger seat moving automatically forward when you pull the lever in the trunk to put the rear seats down? Noticed this on my 2015 E350 when we were on travel this past week. Not sure if it also happens on the drivers seat. Nonetheless a cool quirk/feature to point out.

You can actually change the "Stereo Track" by going to the "Media" setting in the middle of the gauge cluster with the left "trackpad" and then you can change the song/radio station by going up/down on the left "trackpad". Just helpfull info.

If you click the middle button at the bottom of the center touch pad, you can open a small pop window at the bottom of the center screen, kind like a short cut. That pop window is about media control, from there you can select next/prev track by turning the center wheel, or even switch bluetooth device quickly

I see what Mercedes is doing they have a full range of cars unlike all other manufacturers that give you less choices. The CLS and CLA are stylish, pillarless four-door coupe’s, while the A class C class and S class are traditional sedans of different sizes. Also there is a full range of convertibles that are also different sizes and a full range of crossovers along with high end sports cars. Gotta love Mercedes Benz!

I'm not going to pile on since dozens of others have commented on how to change audio tracks using the steering wheel, but there's an even easier way to change tracks: just press the speaker button on the steering wheels and say "Next track," "Track 10," "CD 3," or whatever. I do it all the time in my 2013 CLS550. Doug talked about the volume settings of the COMMAND system, but didn't say anything about all the voice inputs it understands.

Own a 2019 CLS450. Absolutely love it! It’s an absolutely amazing car. Super comfortable for long drives, put it into sport+ mode, and it’s a beast! Sounds great, drives amazingly well, amazing tech, etc. By the time I was done with warranty and taxes, etc it was around $100k. Worth every penny. :)

EM KAY wow. Find it hard to believe someone would sell after just 3k miles. Nice price though! Only options I didn’t manage to get was the 4matic (in SoCal, so, not really needed), exterior lighting option, hud and airmatic. It literally has everything you can add. 4matic exterior lighting, massage seats, self parking, driving assist. sound system. Guess this rich guy got bored and wanted something new.

EM KAY mine also has the designo interior, with the amg package and a bunch of other items like the drivers assistance, parking, energizing comfort, ventilated and massaging seats, 20” wheels, the 12.3” digital instrument cluster, and even the soft close doors. The designo interior was $5k by itself - by so nice. Even the headliner gets upgraded with that one. Sticker was like $87k plus all the warranties (opted for the wheel/tire/glass coverage along with an extended warranty to 100k miles) and of course taxes. You got a good deal though! I just don’t like buying used cars - you can really mess up a car in 3000mi... hopefully the previous owner drove it nicely :)

@@davidiwolf NICE!!! Yeah it was certified and still under warranty. Looks and drives brand new. I'm really happy with it. I could never buy a brand new because of the depretiation as soon as you drive it off the lot. I bought my C7 Corvette zo6 with 2300 miles on it for 74k. Sticker was 110k. still smelled brand new.

Mercedes has always had the two badges on all the cars that have the grill emblem. The big silver star then the traditional blue wreath laurel on top. On the old w126 chassis the blue Laurel was placed forward on the grille while the hood ornament stood on top. Then on the w140 sedan they actually made the base of the hood ornament the blue laurel as opposed to just a chrome base. Starting on the w221 they went back to the 80’s and started doing the traditional hood ornament on top with the blue wreath laurel forward on the grille. But as far as most of their two doors go, they have always had the big star front center in the grille and the wreath up on the hood. That goes all the way back to the 60’s. The first generation CLK (aka e class coupe knock off) originally had the good ornament and not a grille star. This was the first exception to the two doors not having a grille star. Then the C and E class sedans started having the option for either a hood ornament or grille start depending on if you selected the optional sport package setups.

@doug demuro The "glitter" in the tail lights that you pointed out is actually a part of a feature that when you turn the car on or off in the dark or at night it kind of does this cool looking very intricate moving gradient pattern display. You would never notice it but if you make an effort to watch it, it's fucking cool. (first introduced on the new S560)

Doug, you can change the track from the steering wheel via the arrow buttons on either side of the scroll button. You just need to be on the audio screen for it to work. this is true for your 2012 also. also long pressing buttons operates other functions as well

Doug - don't know how the new Mercedes menu looks like but the old w204 had the ability to control which track is played through the up/down buttons on the steering wheel - you'd see this in the dash or on the flip up navi screen. Not a specific next track button but... you get the point...
