The 2020 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Interior is Quirky and Cool (Beth + Matt)

Beth and I review the interior of the 2020 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Ultimate. The as-tested price of this one is $29,215 and for that price, you're paying more for the performance than the luxuries, but the Veloster interior still has lots of great features like a head-up display, wireless charging pad and heated leather seats. Overall it's a great choice for someone who wants something different and fun, but with the very similar Kia Forte GT using the same engine and transmission and packaging it with more luxuries and space for less money, the Veloster Turbo Ultimate may not be the best value in this segment, with the value leaders being the R-Spec and N versions if you're looking for performance. Nevertheless, we're still glad it's still possible to get a fully loaded Ultimate trim for those that like all the features in this quirky package and hope Hyundai continues to Veloster for a long time. I used to work at a Hyundai Dealership back in 2015. I used to love taking the Veloster Turbo out for a spin. Although I remember thinking to myself "Man, I wish Hyundai could come out with one with these with like 350hp, make it look even meaner, and call it the *Velociraptor*" Ahh. Simpler times.

Thanks! Hyundai had a manual option for the Turbo Ultimate for 2019, not sure why they got rid of it. Maybe nobody bought them. Anyone wanting to spend 29k on a manual Veloster likely will just go for the N I guess.

I do like the Quirkiness of the Veloster it is one of the two newer (or refreshed in this case) cars that I am digging for sure. I enjoy the Two-Face design (for Batman fans out there) with the white and black interior two tone design as well as the one door coupe side and the 2 door hatch design on the passenger design. Noticed your shirt, but not until after I thought about the comparison. I would pick this in orange with a black roof if I was to get one. It has been a while since I have been in one or sat in the back seat of one, pretty deceiving in the interior capacities including the rear seats. I am almost 6'1" 250 lbs so it is nice that someone like me could fit back there even though I would rather be behind the wheel. Thank you and Beth for sharing your thoughts as always.

Pretty neat. But I despise light interiors, even the one in my 2019 Sonata. But it seems like my local Hyundai dealership doesn't order any of their cars with dark interiors. But I'd drive one.

Here in Canada the Ultimate Ultimate Page comes with the six speed manual transmission actually because we don't have the R Spec Model this is exactly why people Hyundai Canada offered us a six speed manual transmission in that model

I think the Veloster Turbo makes the most sense in the R-Spec trim for $23-24k. $29k is upper end Mazda3 or base GTI money (or Veloster N money, for that matter!), and both of those have interiors I prefer over this. Still love how unique and unconventional the Veloster is, though.
