Actually both engines first is Torque then Power. But in diesels all comes earlier torque 2000 rpm power 3000 rpw. Petro torque 4000 rpm power 6000 rpm. For me suv/truck/4x4 must be diesel. Evrt else petrol is better. But in Europe we have very very good diesels.....here 3.0 V6 is amaizing. BMW have 3.0 V6 diezels with 0-100 for 4.7 sec etc.. so yep. Merica...no diesels...

electrikoptik That is not completely right. Diesel is cheaper is most European countries, but the diesel equivalent for a petrol often is 3.000 to 4.000 euros more expensive. You have to calculate if it makes sense for you to buy a diesel based on the Kilometers you do on average and if it fits the car
@wilhelm0022
@wilhelm0022 4 жыл бұрын
@@electrikoptik Getting a Diesel version of a car does cost extra in europe, for example: a BMW 320i (gasoline) costs 39.000€ and a 320d (diesel) costs 42.000€. The engines are more complicated to make, so they are more expensive. But how you said, the fuel is cheaper so people who drive a lot tend to take a diesel over a gasoline/petrol engine.

In North America and where I live in ny diesel cost around a dollar or more power gallon. I couldn't imagine putting in 18 bucks more every 2 days in my altima and not sure about diesel maintenance. Im getting around 36mpg. With diesel i might avg low 40's. Not that big of a difference compared to the added cost of a diesel in America.

I personally drive a 2 door JK Wrangler that I got new and have modified over the years. The diesel isn't really for towing, its the torque and the fuel economy. A gas Wrangler will average between 16-20L/100km offroad. A diesel will be 7-10L/100km offroad. On highway economy will be about the same as well once big tires, lift, and camping gear is added in. It sucks that this is only available in the 4 door and that it is priced so sky high. You wouldn't make up the cost difference in fuel economy if you just used it as a city vehicle.

You don't actually need to go to the dealer to pull that door stopper back out if it goes all the way in. I have a 2019 Wrangler Rubicon, and that happened to me, but I just had to put a screw driver through the screw hole and pull. It is very hard, but a lot better than going to the dealer. There doesn't seem to be any damage or anything on the door, and the door opens and closes fine, so I would at least give it a shot, and if you can't get it to pop back out, then that is when I would suggest going to the dealer.

Fuel mileage was no better it sucked towing and never worked at all compared to all the other Rams, which hauled chemical drums every day of their lives. These eco-diesels are rare as "Hens Teeth"" now Everyone is snatching them up. Took me two weeks of steady hunting to find mine. Then it just popped up at a dealership an hour away. Out of the Blue. We were the first people there. We opened it up, so to say. We looked inside and looked at the window sheet and was amazed at all the features and packages. Sales guy said a guy ordered it. and when it came in he saw the price $$$$$$$$$$$ and bolted. He never came back, they had to hold it so long. Since he put a deposit down. Then the dealership basically forgot about it. His loss my gain. They cut the price a lot since it was a 2022. Then gave me 25 k for my old jeep and we put 10k cash down as well. And we still have payments lol. But I got my dream wrangler. They have a ton of the Gladiators a ton of them. Some of them are eco-diesels. I tried to get in one and didn't fit. Anyone over 6 ft is not going to fit either. They are super small inside. So small I couldn't even get into the back seat. Sales guy said they made them after a Chinese guy. Most men do not fit in them. So, if you're on the small side. Here you go . They are practically giving them away. I bet there were #30 of them on the lot.

By the way jeep updated the steering box and power steering pump software to fix some of the steering problems from earlier JL/JTs. So it's not due to the rubicon's tires

Don't know about other European countries, but here we have had 2.2L (200 hp, around 400 - 450 Nm) Diesel option for Jeep Wrangler for few years. Would love to have the 3L option.

I love my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel got less torque then the new ones but still fun to drive around a Grand Cherokee with a diesel. Gonna get a tune once someone gets a CARB approved one through. Only problem with EcoDiesels then and now is they're incredibly expensive options (have to include the transmission up charge as well ~$6000)

Just about every 4x4 and pickup in Australia is diesel. Diesel torque is addictive. The 0-100 times are handicapped by the first gear.
@exia989

Fun fact, the reason this jeep and many other vehicles don't get upgraded tow ratings with diesel engines is because they can't upgrade the cooling systems enough to handle the increased load. They'd have to dramatically alter the front ends of these things to achieve that, which most people wouldn't want.

@@ryanmaestas8005 I don’t know the technical stuff, but the Jeep just doesn’t feel new anymore. The interior doesn’t justify the close to $40,000 price tag. For that price, you could buy a used Land Rover or a Mercedes GLA which Both are higher quality and have much better interiors.

Funny how you mentioned you like the steering better in this new Sahara. It is because Jeep has an issue with the steering box and the newer one is made out of steel instead of the older aluminum one. That is why the steering is tighter and the Jeep tends to wander less on the roads, not because of the bigger tires on the Rubicon models. Jeep has not been forced or put out a recall on this issue. Shame on Jeep! My Gladiator Rubicon wanders and so did my 2018 Wrangler Rubicon that I traded in on. Same problem. Same weak steering box. There is a dealer TSB on this issue and I have read that some dealers do not know about this and/or will deny there is a problem with the steering. My dealer's service guy said "it's a Jeep, they all do that". I told him BS, my 2010 Wrangler with bigger tires drives better. He was clueless.

I love one part, the same that Yuri hates. Cup holders. EVEN if they are in the most hated place for me (between the armrest and gear selector), the height of the armrest suggest that my large Nalgene bottle or a thermal REUSABLE Contigo coffee mug would fit there just perfectly ( I am looking at you! actually the issue with small steering inputs on the highway is an allignment issue not really the tyres... yes the tyres do affect overall geometry but caster and mainly toe affect the sensibility of the inputs specially ln the highway (toe in makes it understeer more requiring less inputs and toe out makes it easier to oversteer and the caster makes the steering self center when you leave it)
