The 2022 Genesis GV80 - Now Available with 6 seats!

Hi, guys! Today, we have the 2022 Genesis GV80 for our review and it now (probably for the 2023 year model for you guys watching from N. America) comes with 6 seats (before the Genesis GV80 was only offered with 5 or 7 seats). The Genesis is charging about $2,000 USD for the 6 seat configuration (including the seats, armrest with many controls, and relation 2nd-row seats), so guys do let me know do you think it is worth the money. And our Genesis GV80 came with 3.5L Twin Turbo mated to 8-Speed automatic with AWD, so we had some fun driving it, so let's meet the 2022 Genesis GV80 with 6 seats.

Great review of the 2022 Genesis GV80. Genesis has really made a big splash in the highly competitive SUV market here in the U.S. Compared to similar vehicles offered by Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Lincoln the Genesis GV80 offers very competitive value. The six seat model will definitely be a very popular option. My household situation leans more toward the GV70.

Basically, the 6 seater GV80 is suitable for a chauffeur or Uber X in North America.. Or a family of 3-4. Even a Single bachelor, like myself. That 3rd row is just for emergency purposes. But more suitable for small children and adults under 6ft tall. Overall, I'm in love with the Genesis brand! I'm anticipating seeing the new debut of Genesis GV90! I hope the 6 seater version of the GV80 makes it to North American market. This will be very popular for Business Execs and rideshare.

Excellent review! I live in Los Angeles and I already seen several Genesis on the road! Very eye catching and a refreshing change from the European, Cadillac and Lexus brands. This is a very competitive design that should do very well. I would love to see a GV90 since a third row on the GV80 leaves such a small storage space and third row seating area. I also prefer a 3 spoke steering wheel so that would be a great change or option. Finally, I would do second row captain chairs and third row bench! I love these new Genesis designs!

Happy New Year Charlie, thanks for the review! Wish genesis would offer the dark interior roof liner. It’s one of the things I love about my G70. As you said unless you transporting kids in the third row it’s not for adults. It will be interesting to see this in an electric version.

Wonderful review, thanks. I have the Prestige 3.5 TT . It is a wonderful vehicle. My only problem is entering and exiting. My head bumps the roof every time . You say you are 6’2”. I am 6’1” and I guarantee if I wear a ball cap it will be on the ground every single time . This vehicle was not made to fit comfortably any person over 6’.

I liked very much everything about the car until it came to the infotainment screen. I really don't like infotainment screens that to me just look like they have been stuck on top of the dash because they couldn't be bothered to integrate the screen within the dash. It's horrible. Despite the screen I would still like one

I am amazed about the space - not that I would need a third row. What is kind of overstyled just to make the statement, we are talking GENESIS, Hyundai could be more generous on sockets, USB 5.5 Volt and 12 Volt so one could plugin more gadgets such as security LCD screened reverse mirrors or to plug a fridge - freezer in the boot and so on. If I am in the market to buy another car, it still has to be a KIA or a Hyundai because they are brilliant car brands with a good service network all over Australia. Why Genesis is kept separate from those other two as far as the service network is concerned is not quite clear to me. Could this have anything to do with being a status symbol brand, so high above the rest? Genesis would sell more of its extreme classy cars in Oz if it would be integrated!
