@Uncut The Urbanite idk about all that, but I do agree that the Koreans are making great cars now
@ForzaMonkey4 жыл бұрын
@Uncut The Urbanite sure, the Korean market has faster cars. but WHO CARES. it is a DRIVER'S car. MADE FOR THE DRIVER. the DRIVER is the one who is supposed to build it up, not the factory. That is why you buy a cheap sports car, to build it up. no car out there you can buy from the factory with drift suspension. there are drift settings, sure, but that is not your suspension, that is the TCS and stability control turning off, and in AWD cars, that is the differential sending extra power to the rear. And you don't need a turbo either, a supercharger or N/A is better for drifting anyway, if you are looking for a driftable car. Turbo-lag is not completely cut out by two-step. Supercharging and N/A get no lag at all, meaning your power comes immediately, which is good for pulling out of a tight, low-speed corner. My dad is a pulmonary/critical-care doctor, working almost 15 hours a day, and he has time, and the will, to build up his car(s). I do not see how you can't do that yourself. And when you do it yourself, it will likely end up better quality, and cheaper, than any pre-built chassis. that DIY mindset also worked for my brother, who, instead of getting a $5,000 desktop computer, built one for half that, by getting his own parts, and building it himself. And guess what? his computer runs better than most of the high-performance computers on the market right now.

@@jaimeramirez-perez7198 ... I completely agree with you, and I have been building performance vehicles since 1980s. Makes about 640 WHP, all while running on 93Octane pump fuel. I would NEVER want to add forced induction to that engine, nor would I add any FI to my 2013 Scion FRS... A properly set up NA build, is so much more predictable, and engaging... Forced Induction vehicles are terrible when pushed hard in the long run. They heat soak quickly on the track, require all kinds of "extra" maintenance to keep them running reliably... I have had plenty of FI vehicles, and all of them had the same issues... all due to the forced induction system creating tons more heat, that requires a ton more cooling... PLUS the lag and "dead" zone created when waiting for the engine to get into boost, just takes the fun out of things.

There is a reason why the Suzuki Jimny is pulling out of Europe. And that has a 1.5l I4 N/A engine. Also subjective for me. N/A engines are just too loud for what they do in this class of car. No turbo ? 👀 *THE 400Z HAS ENTERED THE CHAT*
@twrcrew88524 жыл бұрын
can't just think of cars by text. 400z = long as hell front end with the front wheels positioned right next to the overhangs = high steering input BUT front visibility 500 yards away from the front of the car as if you're driving a rear-bridge crab boat on deadliest catch. BRZ = boxer engine. compact, short front as if it was FWD but RWD front midship = ultimate front visibility. you're close to the wheels that you actually steer with = feeling like you are in control and can actually see and thread the car through an asteroid field with ease. this is a MUST in a car that calls itself a "sports car" and unfortunately 5 million sports cars out there fail at this (looking at you mk5 supra, C7 corvette, 90s batmobile, jaguar F type. or should i say type F to pay respects type.) Obviously the ideal set up is mid engined where your cockpit is RIGHT on the front wheels with ultimate vision and a short nose. but serviceability on a budget needs a compromise. Toyota used to know how to make a longer front car with ultimate visibility, like the mk4. It's hood is long but you can still maneuver it perfectly because of the round shape that lets you sense the edges of the car and where the front wheels are. also 90s visibility of glass leaves no blindspots. toyota fucked up by making the new one like a tank and giving it stupid front fenders and a triangle nose so that it's easy to hit walls and guard rails because you cant see how far it is. you'll be driving it afraid of every edge and taking poor lines.

The S2000 & AMG GT are better "Sports Cars" than the BRZ despite having much longer front ends both cars handle great so your whole front end argument is all in your head, it's just a matter of perception, our brains adjust to the wheelbase of what we drive so you don't need to rely on perfect visibility, if you do then you're just a bad driver with low confidence and low skill

so, at first, this sounded like an accurate statement. but then I remembered how many times Subaru has won in Group A rally championships, and how they pretty much made WRC become what it is today. the thing is, Subaru makes AWD cars, tuning a RWD car is not their specialty. the car was not even tuned by Subaru, for the record. it is built on a Toyota chassis, with Toyota parts, except for the boxer engine, and is tuned by Toyota. the BRZ is a rebadged GT86. if you are going to complain about the car, don't use Subaru as your scapegoat. edit: sorry if I sounded rude, when i try to get out a point, it becomes a whole lecture..
