The 2022 VAUXHALL Crossland is Very Surprising

I do think it’s a shame Vauxhall discontinued the VXR line. For petrolheads like myself they don’t produce anything that is quick enough anymore which is a shame as I love the Vauxhall brand. However I still do have a Vauxhall, I will just have to stick to the older models of VXR. My sister has one of these Vauxhall crossland’s it’s a very comfy ride! And unlike the VXR it is great over the potholes and you can’t even feel any bumps in it which is great! Currently have a 23 plate as a courtesy car and it’s surprisingly nippy and very comfortable!

I am in my 4th year of my Crossland ( motability car ) It ticks many boxes and I have been very happy with it. Now that the price of the new Crossland has dropped, I think I will go for a test drive.

I drove the basic version here in Ireland, 1.0L not sure if it was 100 or 120 Hp but it had decent enough poke, I liked the sound of the 3 Cylinder. I thought the gearbox was kind of sloppy, notchy or was it the fact I'm not used to manual ? Ride was pretty good on Irish back roads which are absolute shite. I love the simple cockpit and love the instrument cluster, I think this has been replaced now in the new model for the Digital instrument cluster. what a shame, I hate them, same in the Astra. The version I drove had manual climate which I love, just so simple. I currently drive a VW Electric car and everything is done via touch screen and it's so dangerous while driving, driving a simple car like the crossland was very refreshing and much safer, I drove the Kia stonic recently and liked this a lot too, it is smaller but big enough for me, don't like all these big SUV on Irish roads they're too big. The crossland is being replaced with the Frontera and I heard that it will have the minimalist design that's all the rage now with minimal buttons and knobs and big screen for infotainment and instrument cluster which would be a crying shame because the Crossland is simple and effective too much information with digital screens which is distracting and often shit to use. I recently drove the Kia Stonic, while smaller it was really nice inside, nice to drive too with what felt like a better gearbox. I can't wait to get rid of this hideous and frustrating Volkswagen electric car, range, recharge times are a pain and depreciation is absolutely shocking and it's the main reason I'm still driving it is because no dealer wants it, even VW gave me shocking trade in on a new car, non ev. Some dealers told me they don't take any electric cars as trade ins so be a long time again before I go electric if ever, as soon as someone offers me a decent price it's gone ! I'll never again buy a car with so much controlled by the touch screen or that has digital instrument cluster, they just look terrible in a car. Now the only thing to worry about is the Stellantis petrol engines in this car that use wet cam belts, it's absolutely vital that the correct oil is used and it's best to get it serviced at the main dealer so if something happens you'll have no issue with warranty. Many people have been rejected warranty on these engines due to indi garages using non recommended oil. This has been an issue on ford also and all Stellantis wet belt engines found in Opel, Peugeot and Citroen and now FIat. I believe Stellantis have changed to chain cam but not sure when and on what brand and model ?

They don’t do a crossland in a 1.0 it’s 1.2 or 1.2 turbo or 1.5 diesel I’ve got one very good on fuel it’s a late 21 model elite but it feels like a 10 year old car engine and gearbox point of view nice car crap shite power train

@@adriancarter825 Yes you're correct, whichever I drove was pretty decent in petrol. Nothing wrong with 10 year old tech, I drove EV for 10 years and for a number of reasons delighted to be back in a petrol manual even if it is a 2020 Kia Cee'd 1.0L 3 Cyl manual turbo 120hp, if it could be 4 cyl naturally aspirated that would be great but that's not going to happen any more for petrol engines I guess. Still, I love the light nimble Kia with manual gears and sound of engine vs expensive dull, boring very heavy poor handling electric cars that are impossible to trade in here in Ireland and EV sales have slowed dramatically and our liberal Government accuse misinformation for being the primary cause of the dramatic drop in EV sales, of course anything that goes against the Irish Government narrative is due to misinformation or the "ultra hard right" lol ! Well, after 10 years of EV driving, hell will freeze over before I buy another !

@@nightcow8767 pretty bland dash yeah. Just take your phone off the Bluetooth in menu or turn the CarPlay off? Had one 3 years now and it’s not an overly exciting car but it’s lots of car for the money
