As a former finance manager at a Chrysler store, the reason 7they don't offer AWD is because they don't have a front differential and transfer case that could handle the power!!! I also built and raced Chrysler for 7 years.. we had issues with the naturally separated hemi AWD let alone 900 plus hp variant!

Dodge offered AWD with the 5.7L Hemi a few years ago. Also, the Durango 6.2L Hemi Supercharged is AWD. I believe the reason is more about sales than technology.

Except for me, my family is MOPAR to the bone. From the '77 Plymouth Road Runner, to the RAM SRT10 Viper truck (manual), to several chipped Charger/Challenger Hellcats, to a Hellcat Durango...these cars are a riot! I didn't know Dodge sold 55K Challengers every year...no wonder they're everywhere. 😀 I'm not looking forward to the EV version at all. Thanks for posting, this was a fun review!

Summer P-Zeros were available on other Hellcat Widebodies, but for some reason all Black Ghosts got all-seasons. Anyway after the stock tires get converted to smoke, a set of 315 width Michelins are a must.

I've got a '21 Scat Pack wide body Challenger 6spd manual, shaker hood. Triple Nickle. Too much car for me. 485 horse power is no joke. Bought it new at $60,000-. Cost more than my house. $900- a month. 23 mpg premium. Useless in the snow on hills from a stop, otherwise so so. Everybody looks at it. Worth every penny.

Well done and comprehensive review. IMHO it's not that the 305mm width rear tires are in anyway small. The issue is that they're all-seasons a car like this should have been equipped with summer tires from the factory to aid in getting that power to the ground. Additionally this is a muscle car not a BMW or an Audi therefore when equipped with a powerful V8 engine the rear wheel only power delivery is as it should be. Congrats on closing in on 1,000,000 subs 👍🏽

It’s impossible even with summer tires. The weight distribution is horrible and even with full shift of weight under WOT, the weight distribution is closer to like 46/54 F/R or something like that according to Engineering Explained. My 2013 Viper with sticky extreme 355 tires still has no traction in 1st and under certain circumstances, even 2nd can break traction. It only has 640hp too lol Viper is close to 49/51 F/R with its transaxle setup.

Just a tip. The hood pins are great, but the cable will rub on the paint at highway speeds and dull it somewhat. A tiny piece of gloss black decal placed on the rub area will stop this. Overall, when you get in this beast and smash the pedal down you will have a smile on your face, and you will wonder where all the other cars went. Keep an eye in the back of your head to watch for any marked or unmarked highway patrol vehicles. Don't drive any faster than your angels can fly!

Just cause it's last call doesn't mean you have to buy the new electric. After a year or 2 we might very well see alot of these at a cheaper price with low miles or any at all and get a good deal. If dodge does go all electric alot of people won't buy it, people will just simply hold onto their current one and maintain it and keep it for years to come or just buy a used one that's lower in mileage. It's crazy that ford is keeping their v8 while dodge is getting rid of theirs, it is what it is though. I'll just keep my current one it looks like.

The car/vehicle market is ruined now and is never coming back. Just like the economy is twisted and broken. In today's times a hellcat car is a 1,200+ dollar financed. In 2019-2020 a Hellcat was $650-680 a month finance or a lease. Buying a new car used to be sort of fun but now a new 26,000 dollar Toyota Corolla (for business travel) I was quoted near $500 a month, 10K mile lease and I'm over 710 FICA. I got a good laugh. Many people are just paying these prices because they didn't/don't know any better. Mush better to hang onto your 2016-2020 vehicle at least until Trump or Vivek corrects this lunacy.

Dodge will do anything to make money. These various "Last Call" version including The Jailbreak, The Sprint and The Black Ghost are nothing but special stripe packages to entice suckers to think their getting something special. The Black Ghost is supposed to be copied after the notorious 1970 Hemi Black Ghost owned by an ex-military/ex-cop from Detroit. Dodge even goes so far as to try and simulate the gator vinyl top the original was equipped with. Of course it's not vinyl but some tacky looking material in the roof of the car. Snd where's the Zulu Nation decal the original was adorned with on the front fenders? And they call it a Black Ghost? Only suckers will spend tons of money for these Last Call Dodges. Just buy a two year old Scat Pack with low milage less the fancy name and trim and you'll save thousands of dollars.
