I considered the '22 Tremor when purchasing a new truck a year ago but opted for the Powerboost this time around. We absolutely love the Powerboost and all it's features and performance. The new tailgate that they're slightly borrowed from RAM is actually pretty neat, so I'm hoping that Ford offers that in upcoming years. The T3 electric platform should be interesting. The existing T3 platform is Ford's large truck platform, so the F150, Expedition, Navigator and.... SuperDuty. I think this new electric T3 is going to be the launch for Ford's next generation SuperDut"E" and large electric SUV

I bought the 401a in avalanche and get a lot of compliments I did however not but my tremor for off road I’m in a region that has 5 months of snow with depths up to 300” per season and this Tremor eats it up. So there’s that. The 5.0 is super powerful and I’m coming from a platinum with a 3.5 eco boost twin turbo.

Good call for why you bought it. I'm going to point that out next time I'm in a Tremor! We got hit a few times this year with some snow but not nearly as bad as Buffalo or other parts of Canada had it. Must have handled nicely in that snow!

Hey man, bought my first 150 today and its coming tomorrow! Got the 402A Tremor, very similar to this build except it has the onboard power and partioned storage. This was a great informational video and after all the vids i saw this one i enjoyed the most. Super excited to become a f150 owner. Man I just got my fully loaded Tremor a couple weeks ago and I love it!! It’s a beast that’s for sure. The only thing I’m curious about is why sport mode shifts it into 4A. I guess I get it, but if you get up over 50-55mph will it shift back into 2H. When I’ve tested it out; I’ve just immediately put it back into 2H before I move.

Good to know you're loving it! The F150 with 4A mode will always shift out to 4A when you go into sport mode to shoot more torque to the front differential. Simplifying it.. 4A would keep you in a 4H scenario at lower speeds but a it would shift out to 2H automatically because you shouldn't travel high speeds in 4H

Because you want the best traction possible if you are going to be driving "sporty" especially if you gun it from a stop. And it only uses all tires when necessary. The system works great.

I just got my "custom order" truck last month. I went with the 401A because it will eventually be a work truck (after a few months of enjoyment). I went with the Coyote, but I am VERY happy with the mpg and performance. I don't feel like I need the 4x-auto lol, that's for amateurs. I did get some options, but the one thing I didn't get that I wished I had was the tailgate step (this truck is TALL in the back). I actually love the "camo-cloth" seats (look better in my opinion). The standard sound system sounds great to me (but I'm an old now so what do I know). I got all the off-road extras besides the 4-auto. Most of the cool gadgets are just standard on the Tremor. I got 17.8 mpg combined on the first tank of gas. I was not happy that the truck had 6 miles on it and the gauge indicated 5 mpg when I went to pick it up (I suspect someone took it for a joy ride before I got it). Even after that, I got, and verified, 17.8 mpg combined. On the second tank, (in spite of running several miles in "sport" I am getting 18.5 mpg combined). I am actually amazed at the mpg and performance. I was a Ford guy as a youngster, then got converted to Toyota because of reliability (for 1/2 ton trucks or smaller). I've had horrible luck with 1/2 ton Chevys at work but had some great Chevys in my life. I was going to buy another Tundra, but the new ones are not very attractive to me, and they ditched the 5.7 which I loved (because of the natural torque) in spite of the mpg. I'm hoping Ford doesn't let me down on this one. Peace, Love!!

Great build Kyle and honestly really good to hear when people are happy with their choice! 4 auto is definitely not needed if you have any experience haha. Good choice on the coyote engine too, lack of turbo is going to give you one less thing to worry about. Check some scrap yards to see if you can find a wrecked F150 with the tailgate step! Are you planning on taking yours off-road or was it more for the look?

@@CarsWithSteve Oh, it will go off-road, but probably not in the short term. I live in the four corners area of the SW so not off-road for work trucks is almost not an option. It obviously won't be doing any real "rock-crawling" (I laughed when I saw the rock-crawl mode). I have a CJ-7 and an old Taco for that. It will see it's fair share of sand, mud, ruts, snow/ice, rocky grades, and generally unhappy lease roads though. My 13' Rock Warrior's skid plates were one of the reasons I bought that truck, and the Tremor's look pretty solid for stock. So, to answer your question directly, I didn't consider Chevy because of the recent bad luck, and I am old enough that Dodge hasn't done enough to give me trust. The Tremor's angle of approach is not quite as good as the Chevy's, but the visibility is better, and I think I can tow more (plus the Torsen diff). For me it was off-road/reliability first and looks second (but I do think it is a good-looking truck). Peace, Love!!

@@CarsWithSteve looked at Ram Rebel, Trail Boss, and Tundra, had a 08 Tundra that I loved, when I was towing a 17’ trailer with dirt bikes we used to race, and a boat. Recently had Tacomas trd off road that were great for trails, but uncomfortable and not much room. The Tremor just seemed to check all the boxes for me. Have a GMC 3500 work truck with duramax that I love as well, so much power.

Very informative and useful video. Thanks for the effort. I just wish I could get the 6.5' bed in the Tremor, or frankly in the Platinum or Raptor too since I am considering those as well. It's just that the Tremor seems like the sweet spot. Were I to get the Platinum I'd want to do some modifications, thinks like lift, offset, fenders and such, maybe larger tires. I just wish I could get the Tremor seats fully blacked out without that orange, or for that matter, get the luxury, massaging, reclining, heating and cooling, all leather, all black Platinum seats in the Tremor. Though I'd rather have all black leather seats in the Tremor, the word Tremor and the small amount of side beading on the seats is less of a concern for me than the orange highlighted nature of the full seat surface, that's the part I really don't like. Still, beautiful truck. I agree with you about wanting that lockable, collapsible storage beneath the rear seat. And that fold out front center console flat work surface, I agree, excellent, and the primary reason I am only considering a Ford and not any of the other pickup brands. Sometimes those unique small things can make all the difference, and that flat work surface along with a mobile hotspot would let me take my laptop with me and make my home office mobile. I would use it often. If you have any input on the above, great, but either way, excellent video. Thanks again.

Thanks Nate! I've had a few people mentioned the 6.5' would be great. Haha I was going to recommend a build out yourself and the Platinum would be a good option to do it. Ford Performance does have some of the necessary upgrades so that you can retain your full warranty too. Seats could be covered with unique Katzkin to get a combo you like the look of. For some of the smaller interior highlights you could either look at 3M wrap or get hydro dipping done to customize it even more!

How comfortable do you think the Tremor seats are for long drives compared to the Platinum and Raptor seats? Is it closer to one than the other, which? Can you "hydro dip" the Tremor leather seats to fully black out that orange/goldish highlight in their center, without damaging the leather?

Depends on what trim of the Tremor you're looking at.. go for the 402a High Pack to get closer to the Platinum/Raptor with heated/ventilated. The Platinum would have Active Motion Massage Seats though that you won't find in the Tremor or Raptor though. As for hydro dipping.. my buddy that has a hydro dipping shop won't do seats because the material is too porous so it wouldn't set properly and without ripping the leather out you'd damage electrical components when dipping. Best bet would be to look at Katzkin seat covers instead to get the color that you're after carswithsteve.com/katzkin

Wow, I just clicked thru. Those are beautiful leather seat covers. Very nice. I guess I'll just head down to the Ford dealership to see first hand, but I meant is the leather similar, the padding and bolstering, the softness, comfortable that way, comparing the three, before any heating or ventilating or massaging is added. One thing I'm trying to figure out, is if the more comfortable Platinum seats make up for the lack of the Raptor's spring suspension in the rear and how buttery smooth that makes the Raptor driving. I'm also trying to figure out if higher quality shocks and coil overs can be added to the Platinum to make it's suspension softer and more effective like the Tremor's which also has leafs in the rear. I will say this, the Tremor's Oxford White, it seems the brightest of the whites, and my favorite of the whites, especially when contrasted against the black trim in places.@@CarsWithSteve

Right? I have a few friends with different custom colors.. they look really good in person. The leather in the Tremor 402a, Platinum and Raptor will be similar feel but just a different color and have different highlights. If you're going to take the truck off-road the Tremor or Raptor would be the way to go for sure but you could always do some aftermarket work to the Platinum to make it more off-road friendly if you want the massage seats. Another big difference of the Raptor is the engine.. The 5.2L V8 is a beast and has 40ish% more HP and 25ish% more lb-ft of torque so make sure to take that into account. You could build up a Franken-Platinum but for the added cost the Raptor would probably make more sense

I ordered a 2023 almost 2 years ago. It's a 402a. Good truck but needed a winch so I installed one. They should have made it easier for an install since its marketed as an off-road truck. To many safety nannies in the bumper. Also going to do four corner spring and shock upgrade as soon more aftermarket are available. ( hint hint King Shocks!)

@@CarsWithSteve I had a warn evo 10000lbs from my 15 SC that I reused. I used the swarf works hidden winch mount. I had to modify the clutch handle with a kit from Vice design, as I wasn't going to spend 2 grand on a palatium warn with remote clutch. I have the v8 so no intercooler issues and plenty of room.

In Canada the 3.5 is cheaper than the 5.0 while it the contrary in the States, if I don't need the torque of the 3.5, I would pick the 5,0 which should sound great with the dual exhaust.

Have 2023 Tremor f150 with 2.5 inch leveling kit (dealer installed). Every once in a while when making U-turn or full turn (while turning) it makes a single pop noise in front end. It sounds like a tie rod pop. Anybody have an idea?

Few people who have added in leveling kits noticed the same thing. Could be a lack of lube in one of the replaced components.. dry steering stops or the CV joint might have issues from the swap. Try lubing up first and if that doesn't work have the dealer diagnose it

So I took the truck back to the dealer. They said they didnt do an alignment on the truck after the level kit was installed. They outsourced the alignment to a local tire shop. I picked it up and as I drove it home I lost stearing and the advance tracking light came on. I took it right back and they claim it was the cause of the outsourced tire shop. Holy shit 😢.

Thank you and you're welcome! The Tremor will handle very differently than the Platinum because of the difference in suspension and factory tires. The Platinum is a great truck too and if you look at the Tremor 402a High Package and the Platinum, they'll have a lot of similar features. Heated/cooled 1st row seats, heated steering wheel, leather seats etc.. If you're planning on going off-road for fun or work the Tremor would probably be best at the top of the list. Either the 5.0L V8 or 3.5L EcoBoost are great engines too.. I've had a few people mention they get better fuel economy when towing in the 5.0L but if you aren't towing the 3.5L EcoBoost would be best
