For me - the TOP story, without question, is Steely Dan's The Second Arrangement. Steely Dan fans and major dudes everywhere have wanted to hear this for 43 years. This was supposed to be a hyped-up lead single on one of the most prolific bands of the 70's final album. Alleged to be their best work ever. And the distilled essence of what the Grammy award winning band was about, from head to toe. Instead, the best song of the batch got erased, one of the music duo's girlfriends overdosed on heroin and died, with her family suing, and that same musician got hit by a taxi and needed to spend six months in the hospital. A separate lawsuit hit the band while fighting with their label, and the infamously meticulous Donald Fagen would like up session musicians often to do over 250 takes of a single song, over, and over, and over, until he got EXACTLY what he wanted. What you hear immediately on the record, the first song, Babylon Sisters, is after take 274 to my knowledge. The album took three years to make as opposed to their usual one album per year turnout, was one of the most expensive records ever produced and sold at the time, spun off the invention of the drum machine after the world's best drummers weren't meticulous enough for Fagen, and the band would split up for 20 entire years. Only seven songs made the record, Second Arrangement not one of them, and when several of the "Gaucho Outtakes" were leaked the quality of some of those songs debatedly were even better than what made the album. This would make for an incredible video! I would love to see it expanded into a full topic.

The Sky Games Star was something I am really nostalgic about. They used to charge your internet provider and I used to run it through the roof when I was a child, which got me into a lot of trouble. I moved to the USA in 2020 and obviously cable isn't as big as it was in 2005-2010 when I was using the Sky Games, but this rabbit hole is huge. There were a LOT of games, including some that I legitimately cannot find anything about online, including one Scooby-Doo one where you control Scooby, and a Kangaroo one that would only come up when you were watching animal planet or another nature related network. Hopefully they find them.

Funny thing is that Spartakus and the Sun Beneath The Sea was a very popular show here in Central Europe and majority of the episodes are available in our dub if I'm correct. Speaking of maybe lost media - I remember very early on in the days of youtube, when there wasn't much of an algorithm - maybe 2007/08, stumbling upon what looked like a video from an Asian cult in a big temple, where followers of this woman got to ask her questions, I think questions about the eternity waiting for them once a spaceship came down, or some typical cult nonsense like that. There were subtitles or a translator there, and her answers were often very evasive, things like 'I'm too tired to answer that right now'. Very very odd. I'm not sure if its lost, esp since I found it on KZbin, but does anyone know the name of it? Would be so interesting to find again.
