What wins me over about the GR is the simple fact that I can daily this year round in any weather. That's the ultimate difference in my eyes. These are still 2 very awesome cars and I wouldn't mind owning either or. I chose the GR.

Be careful driving fast on those canyon roads. I am a local firefighter who responds to the canyon you're driving on, and there's a ridiculous amount of accidents from people speeding. One of those roads you're driving on has a famous MTB spot and riders will ride the streets to get there. Be safe

I put a deposit at a dealer 4/8/22 , msrp + $900 dealer ad ons. Car came in but it was in white. Called around 50 dealers looking for a red GR. Finally found one, MSRP +$1300 dealer ad ons. In the driveway. Feels pretty solid, I'll be glad to get to 1K miles so I can press the right pedal all the way.

At 38k this is a LEGENDARY CAR! My problem with the GRC is that all the dealers around me want 10k+ markup. Spending 50-60k on a 40k car just makes you wanna buy a nicer car at msrp. This is how I ended up with a 23 m240i xdrive. Shouldn't be comparable and its an auto but with these markups its very comparable. Crazy to think a corolla is comparable with a cayman, supra, z, rs3 even... kills the hype quick unfortunately. Although if I didn't have an evo still I might have just gone for it too 😂

3252 pounds is pretty light for a sport hatchback with AWD I think. GG Toyota 👍I personally would probably go GR Corolla, seems like the best of it's competition too me. For it's price, definitely gives you the most value, not too worried about too many comfort features in the car like this, just give me the modern car basics, manual transmission and make me smile while I'm driving light or hard and I'm good to go lol.

I think the GR Corolla looks as it should, but then again I've always liked unusual looking cars. The normal Corolla hatch isnt exactly what you would call pretty (especially compared to the Mazda 3 or latest Civic) but it has a certain Subaru level of charm about it I really like. As for being proud? I'd be just as proud seeing the GR Corolla in my garage vs the Civic Type R or Golf R, and thats the truth. In spite of it looking like a tuner version of the normal Corolla hatch, only a few interior bits such as the dash, door panels and few other bits are interchangeable...it's a mostly handbuilt performance car made in the same special factory as the Lexus LFA and GR Yaris.

GR Corolla all the way! its the only actual real 4WD. Not to mention it was built in the same factory as the Lexus LFA and closely monitored by the president of Toyota. What this review doesnt mention is how solid the GR feels inside. because its literally built like a Lexus. I think the CTR is great, BUT. I dont like that its actually slightly slower than the car it replaced. I also dont like how boy racer that is on the inside. The GR, with those hips, actually doesnt attract much attention to those who dont know. so it can be a grown up car or family vehicle and yet, still be FUN!

I currently drive a Veloster N which is a lot of fun, the issue I have as with all fwd high powered vehicles is getting the power down. I get a lot of horrible wheel hop which violently shakes the entire car, which is why I am either getting the GR Corolla or the manual Golf R, I have deposits down for both. How does the ride quality of the GRC & Mk8 Golf R compare to the Veloster N? The ride in my Veloster N is about as firm as I can take. I did test drive a Mk7.5 Golf R and found the ride very comfortable with the suspension in normal mode.
@KonaNthusiast
@KonaNthusiast Жыл бұрын
Both cars are a good bit more comfortable than a veloster N. I would recommend trying out a new motor Mount for your VN. I did that for my KN and I hook 8 times out to 10. Even when I don’t hook, I don’t ever get violent shaking anymore

God can you imagine paying over MRSP for this. The interior is worse than a civic from 5 years ago.

6:37 You mean 3 cylinder? You turned on the rev matching, but never showed that but I see you rev matching yourself instead through out your video?

How is that possible that this AWD 300 HP car is slower from 0 - 60 as a FWD Elantra N with 280 HP?

They are already pushing the FWD configuration with that amount of power...AWD is required here...plus the GR Corolla is a Toyota...which will keep it's value and be reliable, even 10 years from now.
