The one thing that's pretty annoying about how they're selling these cars is that the Spring (the base model) is given no upgrade options. The Ti, which is $2500 more, seems to have basically no actual extra value except for the ability to add packages, which all increase the price. I kind of wish they just had the base model w/ upgrades available and the high end model.

@@DRayL_ I have a Guilia despite the reputation, and have had 0 issues. The reliability being predicted isn’t from true experiences but from magazines predicting based on old information and common issues from the infotainment . I researched the forms for real owners who own them and like any vehicle the issues are hit or miss and mostly related to the battery needing replacement and nothing major. The transmission and the engines are pretty solid and that’s what I’m looking for when it come to reliability and not the infotainment like Consumer reports and telling everyone about. I love the car and it drive amazing. Honestly I prefer people think it’s a bad car so I can enjoy the exclusive experience.

This is a Stellantis product, so if they are going to raid parts bins, it will be from the dozen brands that Stellantis owns. And parts sharing between Stellantis products is sensible. The Tonale is a very nice compromise, and clearly targeted for cramped European cities. Designed to compete against BMW; it is a more advanced product from a technical aspect (Multi-Air engine, plug-in hybrid).

@@edwarddejong8025 Component sharing is, indeed, endemic in the automotive world, but some manufacturers seem to do it better than others. Look at the VW Golf and it Audi stablemate, the A3. On the exterior and interior few, if any, parts are shared between the two models despite using the same MQB foundation and EA888 engines - they look totally different to the buyers. The Hornet, on the other hand, shares way too much with the Tonale IMO. Only the hood, fascias and lamps are unique to the Dodge version versus the Alfa. The interior is even worse - Alfa steering wheel, seats, instrument panel, door trims. Even the seat material /colors are identical between the two brands. The hybrid powertrain/6-spd auto trans is part of the Hornet R/T model and standard on all US Tonales. Not enough product differentiation, and to add insult to injury, the Tonale is priced some $10k more than the Hornet.

However the pricing is a lot closer than 10k, as the low priced "teaser model" of the Hornet is probably not going to be stocked, and thus a lot closer in price to the Tonale. That green color is only for the highest trim Tonale; it sure is pretty.
