The butterfly effect of letting him walk and keeping Jimmy would be insane, not just for Embiid’s legacy but Jimmy’s as well. Even if the Lakers still win in 2020, I think you have strong arguments for why that team on paper should win in 21, 22, and give the Nuggets a little more challenge in 23. If Maxey and Jimmy ran things while Embiid missed games this year they’re looking at better seeding too. What an all time fumble from Philly’s front office.

Denver has the better coach the best player, and a more reliable second option in Murray. Also Denver has bodies to throw at Tatum and Brown while Boston has no chance of defending Jokic. If Denver won one of the away games in game 1 or 2, boston will easily crumble as they do every single year once they feel actual pressure.
