Its not like winning with a team built around pure shooters was an accomplishment Its not like they didnt have multiple players and a style of play that revolutionized the game History will see them and their title wins as some of the most influential in NBA history and the loss to the Cavs will be seen in an equal light

I respect the pistons run greatly, however I would place it at number three. It was a great run (No all stars on the team I think) but I think the 2011 ring elevated Dirk into the all time top 20-25 of all time. Additionally it was a revenge tour from what happened in 2006, and it was the first title in franchise history. Furthermore, the road the mavs went through to win was amazing. Sweep Kobe, gentleman sweep Durant and beat the heat super team in 6.

Great video! As a Spurs fan though, I would flip ‘07 and ‘05. 2005 Pistons were the best team we faced up to that point. @anf93116 жыл бұрын
I don't get why they should have swept or even dominated in 2015. This isn't a young LeBron vs. an experienced, multi-champion Spurs team. This was a multi-champion, battle tested LeBron, vs. a young up-and-coming Warriors who was in their 1st year of being an elite team. The 2 seasons prior they were a 6 seed. They turned heads in 2013 making the 2nd round but lost in the 1st round of 2014; narrowly but lost. They showed they could become a contender, but not a 67 win, best team in the league led by an MVP type of contender the very next season. Klay and Draymond/Barnes were only in their 4th and 3rd years in the league. This was LeBron's 5th year.. making the finals.. in a row.. He isn't going to struggle like he did in 2007 where you could argue he had a worse roster than this one. Are we really going to think that an 11th year LeBron, with 2 titles, years of deep playoff experience, pressure and expectations, motivated by the goal of winning one for Cleveland, is going to look at the 2015 Warriors, and think he can't win a game because he doesn't have Kevin Love or (after Game 1) Kyrie? Warriors should have struggled a bit to win that title. It was their first time making a DEEP playoff run. They didn't make the finals 4 straight years and 5 overall like the guy on the other side. It was unfamiliar territory for them.

Dom, I usually agree with you, but your logic is flawed a few times in this list. The 2016 finals were a great, however Steph was injured, Draymond suspended, iggy hurt, and bogut was hurt. That's a lot. Plus how do you put Spurs dominating the heat in 2014 higher than 2010 Lakers, that went to game 7 and basically down to the last min.? You said earlier that some of those titles were blowouts and not competitive so they were low, then you take a finals that wasn't that competitive and put it top 3. 1. Dallas 2. 2006 Miami 3. 2010 Lakers 4. O4 Pistons 5. 2016 Cavs

@@jasonmoukala8909 Wade and Bosh's injuries weren't major at all. they were just banged up like practically everyone is come playoff time. their production barely went down from the regular season to the playoffs. and lmao, Wade was a shell of himself? dear lord, what does that make Parker, Ginobili and Duncan? 5 games is way too small a sample size to judge talent on, not to mention, the spurs' ball movement was so insane that series that it severely inflated their players' numbers beyond what their talent levels really were. so i'm going to look at the whole playoffs LeBron: 27 ppg Parker: 17 ppg Wade: 18 ppg Duncan: 15 ppg Bosh: 15 ppg Kawhi: 13 ppg and then factor in that the spurs' ball movement was way better than the heat's, which led to more easy baskets for the spurs, inflating their numbers a bit if we're using the numbers to deduce talent. the heat had the three most talented players on the court. that's unheard of in a finals series. the heat's leading scorer for the playoffs averaged 10 more ppg than the spurs' leading scorer. that's also unheard of. even the heat's 2nd leading scorer averaged more than the spurs leading scorer. also unheard of in a finals series. and for the team facing those disadvantages to win by a record finals margin? i think it's the most impressive accomplishment in nba history

Prior to 2011 people were saying he was on pace to joining Elvin Hayes and Karl Malone as a guy who puts up great regular season numbers, but chokes when it matters. The 2011 Finals changed all of that. Not only did he dominate throughout the entire playoffs, but he beat the newly formed Miami Heat big 3 when the hate for Miami was at it's peak. He beat the most hated team in NBA history at the time in convincing fashion. That title run was enough to repair his legacy and his failures are mostly forgotten.
