I've had mine since March and use it to pull my race trailer as well as my trailer to Moab. It's not any bigger than the F250 Tremor, and the AEV package is nice, but. my unfiltered review over the last 10k miles is...meh. I just bought the AEV package because it looked nicer and I like the interior upgrades. It's actually very easy to park because of all the cameras and tows the trailer like it's not even there. The winch package is kind of a joke - it only allows for a single style of ComeUp winch (another $2k) and requires a $500 installation kit. The truck does go off-road and it's nice to have the clearance in Moab, but if you want a full size truck for off-road, then you're much better off buying a Raptor which is 10x the truck this will ever be off-road. But, for a lot of towing with ease and the occasional need for high-ground clearance, it's a good all around truck. The IFS is much more comfortable to drive than the Super Duty and Ram and handles much better. On the big down sides, the polish may be nice on the GMC, but it has far fewer options than the Ford, isn't nearly as comfortable, and the stereo is just terrible. How is Bose even still in business? It should be worth noting the Infotainment system Doug loves requires a subscription, quickly begins to lag overtime, and is SLOW AS F*** when it comes to navigation because it relies on a strong cell-signal. You'll quickly want to shoot your dashboard. Clearly this is not my daily driver but I do own a farm and haul often, so if you have the use case it's a good truck with plenty of power and it looks nicer than most IMHO. Anyway, if you're in the market and tow a LONG distance through various terrains it's a good truck, but I'll probably replace it as soon as they release a newer, less ugly Super Duty.
@DansDrives5 ай бұрын
Another thing worth noting, this truck is actually a lot smaller than you might think inside. The F150 is a lot roomier inside with much better ergonomics. This truck is long and tall, but if you drive a Raptor this truck will feel oddly normal sized and even somewhat cramped. I don't agree with saying this is competing with the Raptor; it just doesn't fit the same use case being an HD truck and the Raptor. You buy this to tow first and off-road second. You buy a Raptor to off-road first and never tow anything.

When you mention that the HD version of trucks tend to be on the bumpier side, Doug, it's because the leaf spring suspension packs are extra beefy for the added towing/hauling capability. Without any weight in the back, it behaves like very stiff suspension. It slacks up with weight on it.

"Your knee hits these knobs on the left of the steering wheel." Well, maybe if you're not driving with the steering wheel in your crotch your knee wouldn't hit the knobs

That is a NICE, very desirable truck. I’d have absolutely no excuse to have one but I want one. I remember when the HD trucks maxed out in the high 70’s/low 80’s tho. Car prices are getting out of hand and it’ll happened in just the past 5-7 years. It’s crazy.
@Terryrouge4275 ай бұрын
The ride quality is a by product of being able to tow an excessive amount of weight. To be able to handle the 20-30k lbs, you have to have stiff suspension
@nathanmcdonald6105 ай бұрын
Yeah, I was honestly surprised to hear Doug say he couldn't figure out why HD trucks have poor ride quality. It's pretty simply math that you have to have a stiffly sprung suspension to handle the kind of payload and towing these things are rated for, also bigger tires don't always mean a softer ride, most of the A/T tires are 10ply or better with very stiff side walls to resist against trail damage which also contributes to a poorer ride quality.

Three annoyances: 1. No cigarette lighter meaning radar detectors need a special adaptor 2. Gear shifter blocks the map on the console display 3. If you dont want to use the non-camera rear view mirror, if you're tall, it doesnt work. The mirror will only adjust to a level where you can only see the back seat or your chin Other than that, Doug hit most of the good stuff

If you don’t drive a truck this looks absurd. But when you pull up to a 1500 or even 2500 you get immediate respect. It’s like a camero vs a Corvette. This is the Corvette of trucks. Few can afford them making them rare and every truck owner wants one. Crazy money for a crazy truck.

And here we go, we’re crossing into territory where a 2500 class regularly creeps into six figures. In 5 years, the 1500s will be up near the $100k point, and RAM is already close with the $90K 1500 Tungsten. Just madness. I’m taking my $100K and buying a Porsche at that point.

I love GM's Multi-Flex/Multi-Pro tailgate. The only issue with this tailgate, granted that because of the steel bumper there are not side steps, is that there is a weight restriction up to approx. 375 pounds (170 kg). Therefore if someone is heavy, the multi-flex tailgate won't be ideal.
