I get better fuel mileage with my 13 speed manual because I know how to drive. I have the only manual left in our fleet, the rest are the automated Eaton transmissions, which are almost identical to mine but there’s an automated clutch and XY shifter. All of our drivers get in and put the pedal to the floor with no consideration of the operation of the truck because they don’t need to know. These autos and automated transmissions are the direct reason why we have poor drivers in the industry.

Woah that’s insane. Did the EPA make Eaton change what they could make available. And a surcharge for getting a manual sounds even more outrageous. Next thing they will start putting surcharges on hood trucks

EPA surcharge for buying an 18 speed but not automatic that's completely ludicrous. Manual trans gets better fuel mileage than an automatic. Could you clarify for us on why ? To me it sounds like going to an automatic they are trying to get pretty much any person who can marginally pass the CDL into trucking. Maybe I'm wrong but it just doesn't make sense to me.

8:01 Hi Andy I like the W990 but my favorite truck from kenworth is the W900L I'm a owner now of my peterbilt 567 it's set up for heavy haul which I use to do but now im a grain hauler and truck in the Midwest from Texas where I live I'm so sick of the emission on it keep the great videos coming brother have a awesome weekend if I get tiered of My peterbilt I'll definitely trade in my truck for a kenworth W900 L

Too bad with all the BS coming with the EPA. The gliders would be the ultimate choice to old guys like me and those days are gone and that really sucks !!
