@@Moistnmeaty90 I’d disagree. A base Tahoe, expedition, or sequoia cost more than a fully loaded van and are truck based. Most people who’d need a minivan get something like a pilot or telluride, and a minivan is far superior to them in terms of hauling people and their stuff. A minivan has more third row legroom than those crossovers by far, more space behind the third row by far, and more space with both rows down by far. Those crossovers aren’t really that capable all while the most off road they’ll see realistically is the grass or gravel in your country club, which even a 2WD sedan can handle. So compared to those, a minivan is superior. As for the sequoia, Tahoe, and expedition, minivans have more interior room than them. Their main utility is towing and off-road. Those make no sense unless you need to carry 5+ people, have room for their stuff, and tow a 5000+ pound trailer or go off road and how many people fit that? I doubt many do. So yeah, minivan is the most practical, rational, and functional solution for many families.

Your comment about the front LED lights was incorrect. It's also included on the SX model with LED fog lights too. The SX does not have the rear taillight LED. the SX does have the interior LED lights but not the ambient lighting. Also note that the auto liftgate has some flaws as if you open too many times it drains the battery and can also overheat. The owner's manual also says not to leave it open for long periods of time or it will drain the battery which makes me wonder about why a 115v outlet is in the back if one can't leave the liftgate open? From what I finding one has to really watch the charge on the 12v battery in this type of vehicle and there can be charging issue like EV's do. Tesla is known for this problem. Also, there is no spare tire. they have a tire mobility kit which is the side storage area in the back - which you didn't cover. The spare time issue is a big one and there no jack (just a lug wrench). I recommend getting a spare wheel with tire and a jack for long trips. One can keep the tier at home or carry all the time - but a good idea for long trips. If a tire blows you have to be towed, and the towing coverage sucks as it's about $75 which is nothing these days.

You are making a valid point. What really matters is probably the HP (over the number of cylinders or the cubic displacement of the engine.) The inline electric motor adds 74 HP on its own, and the 4 cylinder (it is a turbo 4 cyl on this van incidentally) adds 168 HP for a total of 242 HP. For comparison , our 2010 Sienna Limited AWD that we very much love - but just replaced it with the 2025 Kia Carnival SX Prestige Hybrid - had a 6 cylinder naturally aspirated engine that was rated at 266 HP. So we were not really giving up a lot in overall power. (And yes, I realize that the Kia we just bought is about 300 lbs heavier than our old Sienna.) What we gained in return is fuel efficiency of course, and low rpm torque with the inline electric motor and the turbo charged engine that we didn't have before. Just sharing my opinion and our thought process that led us to buying this minivan and moving away after 24 years spent with two Toyota Siennas back to back. And yes, we also gave up AWD - and will have to do with FWD and snow tires on the Carnival.

Nowadays range on new EVs are getting comparable to a full tank of gas. Yeah, charging isnt as fast *YET* compared to filling up at the tank, but more charging stations are popping up everywhere and charging times are decreasing. I'm not saying I would get an EV, but rather the V6 Carnival that isn't a hybrid. Everyones entitled to their opinion though. I just dont see why hybrids still exist in todays world other than to keep those anti-EV people happy.

I myself prefer a gas engine over an EV, but since times are changing I'm keeping an open mind, and personally a hybrid just seems like its more complicated than its worth in todays world. Maybe 10 years ago a hybrid would have made more sense, but not so much now.

@@Autosage06 nonsense. The hybrid is the future. As it’s the perfect compromise between old and new. EV’s are a death sentence for a company’s financials. Hybrids are profitable.

Please ask Kia to upgrade their Carnival with the following features in their USA 2026 upgrades. In order of Priority: 1) Massaging Seats in both seats in the front row. A must for health reasons. ( Maybe an option with the Caption Seat in the 2nd row as well. I would buy an early 2026. 2) Better looking Aluminum wheels. Do not like the Black wheels. A little more Chrome emphasis and less Black in the Grill and Rack. The Black expresses ruffness, opposite and goes against the luxurious top trim. 3) Electric control steering adjustment tied into memory seating. 4) Hide the Sliding Door rails into the window. Would attract more SUV customers. 5) A more luxurious and better looking tan/brown leather interior.

honda odyssey is going to be in trouble.
@Moistnmeaty904 ай бұрын
@@monkeyrun Honda has nothing to worry about. The one to lose is Chrysler, as Kia and Chrysler both sell to fleets and subprime customers. Honda and Toyota limit fleet sales. Buying a vehicle from a Kia dealership is an eye opening experience. The chain-smoking ex-con salesmen all running to you once you pull into the lot….and home of the “everyone is approved” sign for 500 credit scores.
