I actually really like the fact that the apartment and girl that live there feel more modern than the rest of the set. It gives an interesting bit of character. A young 20 something just moved into a newly renovated flat in the historical district.

Tudor is a time period in British history from 1485 to 1603 which is named after a branch of the royale family, the most famous Tudor's would be Henry the 8th and Elizabeth the 1st. The architecture style I believe is called that because it comes from this time period. And as for my thoughts on the building it looks amazing! It looks exactly like a building I could see anywhere in the UK. Love the pub and the Tudor stylings for the roof.

UK pubs almost stereotypically have black chalk boards showing specials and menu items. Also the choice of green reminds me of the dreaded chain Greene King that is buying up all the pubs in the UK 😮

No idea how highly this set will appeal to me as someone who watched Horrible Histories in my childhood, but I am glad that the Rex Dangervest/Leo hairpiece is being given to a woman for the first time.
@steampaul344217 сағат бұрын
okay as far as i understand it, the style of the top floor is more Fachwerk (half-timbered) than tudor, but tudor is basically a period of architecturee, so "tudor corner" means that this is building was built sometime between 1485 and 1603. that's why it feels like it's from a different period. but the small building on the right, the one with the haberdashery in it, seems to be way younger than the main building. and in older cities (i.e. anything outside the US that didn't face too many disasters) that is not really an uncommon sight. i know a bunch of buildings in my hometown that are like this: fachwerk or other old styles with some more modern side extensions or the buildings being more integrated in their sourrundings while maintaining their original building style (you're actually forbidden to refurbish/modernize fachwerk buildings without using appropriate building materials and methods)
@coraldiamond192217 сағат бұрын
At least here in the UK old buildings can become graded and receive certain legal protection from developers. As for the set it's really cool to see something very different from what we have so far.

Fun fact: that printed tile on the top floor actually contains a sunflower lanyard, which is used by neurodivergent people to communicate their disability.

Aw that’s Awesome! Looks like an old British pub. Makes sense they called it the Tudor Corner… you know because of Britain’s Tudor Period aka the Elizabethan Era (Henry VII - Elizabeth I)… maybe I’m just biased because I’m a Brit. But it’s just such a nice addition.

This is a very beautiful model, though I gotta admit that I don't think it will mesh well with the other modulars. Even the Palace Cinema fit in very well despite being based on the 1930s. 2:37 They used battle droid legs on the railing. I always love seeing some classic parts.

Stunning modular, the last one I liked was the police station, it's great to get something that just gets out of the ordinary. That bicycle might feel a bit out of place for a UK context, but it reminds me of the bike Christian Faber took Duckbricks for a ride in Copenhagen, and so in that context I feel it fits a bit better. Especially if we put it next to the bookshop modular building.

I love this, especially since I have all but Cafe Corner & Market Street, modulars are a day one purchase for me, so the architecture is very British too. Also if you look closely, the gold railing above the pub has golden battle droid legs used, and one of the mini figures uses Tina Goldstein's hair & hat combo in red for the first time. Another great modular, can you believe this is the 20th set already?

I have mixed feelings about this set! On the outside we have 2 separate buildings, but the apartment on the second floor is in both?! Upfront we have a green/orange and then blue/grey, and one apartment is split into those two buildings? Doesn't make any sense. That orange brick I would do either blue as the rest or green as the bottom pub.
