😂 Nice, one small correction. "Plants have better vitamin C." They have more sure, but better is arguable with anti-nutrients. Vitamin C and carbohydrates use the same transport. So, if you have a lot of carbohydrates, you will need more vitamin C to compensate for signal noise and dilution. Fresh meat was a known cure for scurvy. Not to mention if you are animal based. You eat a lot of collagen. Thus, your need for "in-house" manufacturing is reduced. Lowering your overall need for vitamin C. In conjunction with the oxidation cause by mitochondria, it is reduced on a carnivore diet. So vitamin C isn't as needed or used as an antioxidant. Humans produce their own antioxidants like glutathione.

Cold storage. It's why we have fridges and freezers in the first place. Cold kills a lot of microscopic organisms like bacteria. Bacteria, much like everything else in life, has continued to evolve over time. Chances are, our ancestors DID have to deal with such things, but survived it either by building a natural immunity or already having said immunity. However, over time, bacteria, parasites, viruses, etc, would have evolved in ways our body wouldn't be prepared for. To work around this issue, cold storage would allow us to kill of a large amount of those dangerous microscopic organisms before ever actually needing to eat our food. Then, whatever was left, would be killed off when we cooked our food.
