Today's tip is timely because I have mittens in process now - thank you. The Christmas ball is just right! Last year my daughter suggested using balloons inside my newly knitted unstuffed balls. Slipping a deflated white balloon inside and blowing produced a perfect shape. After Christmas, the balls were stored flat and saved room. They are a nice reminder of the gentle spirit you both share with us. I'm certain not to be the only one who is so very grateful for you. You are loved! xx

It's refreshing to hear about St. Nikolaus day. I grew up in Switzerland and came to America almost 50 years ago. Samichlaus Tag will forever be with my memories from the old country. Our 3 kids were always visited by Samichlaus and his helper Schmutzli on December 6th. Today I bought tangerines just for old times' sake. Enjoy your evening!

Besides maybe the best known in America (Lefse, Krumkake - and not for me Lutefisk) I make Breakfast horns on the morning of the 25th. Growing up we also did most of Christmas on the 24th, but now with Grandkids, they wait until the 25th to see what is under the tree (maybe the addition of Scotch English to the family tree 🙂) 100% Norsk for me, maternal lineage (Beitrusten) from Avdahl/Folldal area, paternal ( Pedersen) from Kristiansund/Stadsbygd, Sor Trondelag areas. I have never been to Norway, but both my sons spent a summer at a farm in Tynset with relatives and attended Skogfjorden Lanuguage Village as youths. Many many relatives on my mothers side, less that I have known on my dads. 😞
