I have been so sick with the flu since Christmas and have been so grateful to have these long falalalala videos to get me through it. Thank you Kayla, for having interesting things to say, and also often being long winded…in the BEST way! Also, I can’t believe you dnfed Incidents Around the House! It was my favorite read of the year.

I love that I think I’m fairly knowledgeable about books, but of course that’s most likely not the case with how many books there are in the world, but videos like these/yours, and book community content on other platforms introduces me to so many cool books I’ve never heard of before, and may not have at all, otherwise

I picked up Sky Full of Elephants (even though i don't care much for dystopian or sci-fi) because of your vlog, and i loved it too! 5 stars. thanks for the rec.

I’ll Be Gone For Christmas sounds beats for beats like the movie The Holiday, right? 2000s, with Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet and Jack Black?

Lol yeah I read 32 books this year, and then this video dropped 😂
@__-yh7pn18 күн бұрын
Lol that's my goal for next year. I'm doing the ABC challenge, where every book starts with a letter & I'm reading them in order of letter. I'm pretty sure I'll read some more so I'm doing that first & then when I'm done I'll follow some prompts from both of Kayla's list & some from the 52 book club

If it's okay with you, in the future, if you talk about Dont Let the Forest In and how the MC deals with his sexuality, could you mention him being asexual and not just thinking if he's gay/bi, since he distinguishes his romantic attraction from his sexual attraction. It was a really big selling point for me as an ace person 🥰

I'm sad you felt mediocre about Jade City. To me, the series gets better and Jade Legacy is the best finale for a fantasy series that I've ever read... Please continue reading the series!

I am glad I am not the only one regarding The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year. I was really loving the first half and I couldn't figure out why I just was losing interest the last half the book. I feel incredibly board the last 20% and found I was skimming.

I'm in the minority of enjoying the Green Bone Saga, but no worries for not loving it. I did like the first two books, but I hated the last book because of all the time jumps. The first book mostly lived up to the hype for me, but the series as a whole did not. Also, the "twist" in the third book was so expected; I truly don't understand how people didn't see that coming.

I'm currently at all 4 stars for December and I'm like.. should i try to fit it one more in two days in the hopes it'll be a 5? But the one I was considering was Small Things Like These..
@reneeelich489317 күн бұрын
If that is the copy of IPB you read, it used to be a lot worse at the start! I think it's that way so you immediately view the other blue aliens as so much better.

Do you like vampire books? I just finished The Lesser Dead on audible and it was great! 5 star in my opinion
@janenightreadsandwrites22317 күн бұрын
I love the ice planet barbarians series but I really disliked all the trauma of book 1. There are two versions of book 1 and I read the version that hadn't been softened up and I almost DNF'd it. I think the new cover version you have is the less ick one but not sure. I did it on audio and I just was like why do people like this. Then, after Georgie met Vektal I was more able to get on board with it. But I can totally see anyone thinking the content of that one wasn't right for a series that is mostly light fluffy spicy reads.

If you like Quicksilver then you should read Phantasma. For one thing Fischer is a jerk. And you can’t say the same thing for the main character in Phantasma. Also the writing and plot is better.

The most wonderful crime romance gagged me. I dislike when people with no reason just become so in love. Nope it takes me out of the story. I gave it a 2. Liked the mystery.

I hope you get more 5* reads in 2025!!
@Amanda-qt6lc17 күн бұрын
My two cents on ice planet barbarians... the first book is one of the weakest, if not the weakest, in the series. They're fun and silly. None of them are the best thing I've ever read, but I can't stop reading them. The corsairs series by Ruby Dixon is my favorite of hers. They're space pirates, and you get to see other planets and species of alien... they can be a little heavy though. Don't expect super fluffy romance.
