Hi tango dancer,
Are you feeling intimidated by the vals and milonga rhythms?
It might simply be because you’re approaching them the wrong way!
See, Milonga and Vals are not tango danced fast.
They are specific types of dance, with their own technique, embrace and steps.
The great news is that they are much easier than tango!

The Vals is such a nice dance! I think at almost all milongas I have been, even if there aren't many dancers present, everyone starts dancing when they hear the Vals.

Can't agree with first mistake. I think sharp moves is often very suitable in valses. But they have to be done with valses flow.

Hola, Bonjour... I like your videos, and all your hints and tips. I really like your style of dancing... feels like argentinian/french connection ;-) BUT to this video I dont agree all in general... Tip 1: as Gibsan 1a says I feel that sharper movements could fit in the rithm of vals aswell. Rebound fits well for me. Of course in the right moment of the music... maybe in the 1-2 moment... Tip 2 : maybe its because I am german I know vals as a circular dance and for tango-vals I love to dance turns, more than in Tango ;-) here aswell has to fit to the music and has to have the vals accents. Of course boring turns with no fluidity and relation to music doesnt feels nice, but anyway I love to turn this way AND I dance rounds in one direction and with the music the other way round. the sensation always makes my partner and me smile ( and feeling funny dizzy ;-) at the same time. In general I agree to the hint of fluidity about vals... I feel the same as very important for vals. So thank you for your work I will stay watching your videos and maybe see you somewhere in the tangoworld when this sh** is over. Hugs Andreas

Thank you for all the important information. There is one thing I'd like to mention. Since English is my second language, I would be grateful if you talk a little slower and more clearly. You guys talk so fast, and your accent is hard to understand sometimes. Thank you for the educational videos. 💗

I take exception to #3. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGfEYpSOfdOgpbc, at 1:05 Diego Escobar does a cadena of sandwichitas in a vals. I don't think most leaders can pull this off, and it is not reciprocal -- only the leader does this move -- but it is there and very much in the flow of the music.

Non ?
