no Blind Lemon Jefferson, Skip James, Blind Willie Johnson, Reverand Gary Davis, Mance :Lipscomb?? (Some might say Willie and Gary were religious singers, not a blues singers. But both are helluva guitarists!!)

I will also second a vote for Mike Bloomfield. While Joe Bonamassa is good, his mentor Danny Gatton was far better, and probably more influential. Hendrix wasn't known for his blues work, but he was phenominal.

Thanks for the suggestion! Mike Bloomfield definitely holds an important place in blues history. Danny Gatton also deserves recognition. As for Hendrix, even though he's not primarily known for blues, his influences on the genre are undeniable. Thanks for watching!

Where's Bo Diddly? He is a great Blues guitarist. I was glad to see that your list has some of the greatest Delta Blues men on it. Men that were the true fathers of the blues and knew what the blues should sound like. I enjoyed watching this video. Thank you for sharing it.

Capisco la tua frustrazione, Mike Bloomfield è davvero incredibile e uno dei migliori. Scegliere solo 30 chitarristi è stato un compito difficile e purtroppo alcuni grandi nomi sono stati esclusi.

Hi, first of all I want to say that I really enjoyed of this video, any die-hard blues fan knows that it is very difficult to narrow down great artists like them to 30 places. That being said, i will mention very influential artists like Charley patton, big joe Williams, Robert Nighthawk, Lightnin' Slim, hop wilson, Steve Cropper And of course many others have already mentioned before me here in the comments.

Thank you so much for the comment and support! I completely agree, it's very difficult to narrow down so many incredible artists to just 30. Charley Patton, Big Joe Williams, Robert Nighthawk, and the others you mentioned are all legends that deserve recognition. I'll consider these suggestions for future lists.

@BackingTrackCenter BTW SRV dose not belong on this list .he was a" good" blues player who said absolutely nothing new but made a career off of Albert Kings "pet " licks and phrasing (from Jimi's as well) Guys like Bloomfield ect were all influenced by Albert but didn't play those licks over and to death like SRV did.
@BackingTrackCenter5 ай бұрын
SRV is definitely a polarizing figure. While some feel he didn't bring anything new, others see him as a revitalizing force for the blues in the '80s. It's all about perspective. We respect your opinion. Thank you for commenting!
