The stock OS is outrageous, proper pain in the arse, but RetroArch is a real fix. Now I can play seamlessly with classic consoles, Amiga, C64 games, and watch scene demos, also, most of the arcade stuff runs well with MAME. Kudos to Black Seraph!

Hey guys so on the 35xx for systems its left or right on the d pad then use a to click on the system and how is the game lay out up and down in columns so for example if i wanted to play genesis and sonic how many times do i go right or left or how many times do i go down to find genesis or sonic?

Hey great video! I was wondering if you could go over the first part with a little more detail. Ive played around with Adam image, jelos and arkos, but I've never had to copy or delete or expand partitions before and im unfamiliar with the process. Ive got the image booting to my device, and i see that there is no rom folder and that the memory is askew, aka needs to be partitioned? Can you make a short video showing us the steps in the read me please? Thanks a ton for the work youve done so far!

Glad you enjoyed it! I'm actually going to be doing a new video very soon with all the updates and will cover installation just give me a few days for some things to finish up, as far as the roms partition did you name it? Usually if it's not showing it's because it needs to be named before the file explorer will show it. Should still show in disk manager so look for it there and name it, it's a lot easier if you just drag and drop the files in the stock card. -Aish

I realized the partition that was formatted to fat32 was the "rom" partition and the partition with a cfw folder was the misc partition. I think I figured it out but still surely learn something new from your next video. Thanks again!

I have one. It plays megacd if put .bin files in the MD folder. 32x doesn't work. Zips aren't read, only uncompressed formats. Wish it had its own section on the console list. Also, would like to see a spectrum emu, like fuse. More: thumbnail is sized to a square. It would also be nice to have the contrains free to see a game box format and also a gameplay (it has space for two.

Yeah PS1 was running better on stock, but to be fair this is the first release so it's not a finished product I'm sure it'll improve a lot. Black-Seraph actually just put out a new update this morning.

My RetroArch settings doesn’t have Keep Aspect Ratio in the Video Settings menu, even if you enable Integer Scaling

Save it as a core override in the quick menu settings, if you don't see it go to menu item visibility/quick menu and make sure overrides are enabled. -Aish

Great video. Does anyone know if RA allows subfolders for curated game playlists? (eg a subfolder for my favourite NES games within my NES rom directory).

There's a favorites option where you can keep games you tagged, but as far as I know you can't creat it by system. That's where front ends really come in handy, same for hacks or redux versions since RA won't add them to the main playlist. Oh thank you glad you enjoyed the video! -Aish

I actually tried this today - I put a folder of SMW hack ROMs into the SNES folder. RA just listed them alphabetically along with the existing ROMs in the SNES folder.

@@Garry-jc5kh I'm not certain there isn't a way to do what we want in RA, beyond tagging them to show in the Favourites (though that's not really such a bad workaround). Maybe worth further looking into. 👍

Im gonna hold out, as much as i like retroarch for backend for my ui i dont really wanna use it as a front end looks ugly. I also wouldnt like loosing the power button

i bought the plus version and i would like to know whats the difference between game room or RA? is the same ? and also RA has another core to choose, 3 emulators instead of 2

Game room is limited to just a few customization options and doesn't have things like fast forward, RA is the full emulation experience but can be more confusing for new users. Some games will run better on different cores, for the most part you can just stick to the stock cores and if a game doesn't run well try a different one. -Aish

got mine today. you can switch from stock OS to garlic without installing anything. retroarch is already on it. not sure what games or cores are included or if you have to download them

I put r.a on, extremely rough round edges at mo. Id hold on unless you really cant play gameboy without aspect ratio and palette. Im gonna hold on and wait for a futher update as mame is rough on current r.a made for this. But gameboy is rough on current. Pros and cons to both. The lack of power button is also really annoying on r.a

The reason why I would rather have a stock firmware than a custom one is because the performance of PS1 games will dip. I don't mind if GBA games are not in a proper aspect ratio. I care more about PS1 games.

The analog pocket plays official carts but interms of emulation the 35xx covers more and has r2 l2, also the 35xx is available. Analog pocket -plays carts - beautiful screen -l ong wait list - expensive - premium device RG35xx -available -covers more systems -smaller -cheaper -Aish

The Chipset in this Handheld is more than Powerful enough to play PS1 and below games. We just need good Operating Systems.

Es läuft viel instabiler und hängt permanent bei kleinsten Aufgaben, es sieht nicht schön aus. Ich benutze lieber Standard Stock OS, da läuft alles gut und sogar psx Games. Es ist noch nicht brauchbar das Garlic OS. Die Installation ist Zeitverschwendung und die paar Extra Features sind es nicht wert, 1 Std mit Images schreiben und partitionieren und Größe ändern der SD Karte .....viel zu aufwendig. Playstation BIOS wird nicht erkannt, Spiele werden nicht angezeigt und viele Probleme bei der Stabilität
