Nicaragua is a really good season, and I don't care what anyone says. A good 70% of the cast is memorable in my view, which is an excellent hit rate for an all-newbie season, and it features one of my all-time favorite winners in Fabio. In my view, it's the most underrated season in Survivor history.

Nicaragua always felt a bit like Gabon to me. Both seasons had some wild casting choices that made things super messy, except in Gabon the villains were funny and somewhat rootable in their own rights. In Nicaragua they were just unlikable.

Hot take-I liked this season and had a crush on Benry for the longest time (weird choice for Survivor crush I know) It is on my rewatch list to try to understand the hate and to try to understand how my back then crush on Benry came to be!

Marty was a joy to watch. Smart player. I didn't like that he took out Jimmy J. In the end, Marty got shafted. He rose to the top of the old tribe, then got switched to the young tribe and they targeted him. To hear his thoughts when not one, but TWO people quit after he had already been eliminated. I don't really choose my favorite each season, it just kind of happens. Marty ended up being my favorite.

Yes Holly, he played a great social game, he effectively cast your alliance as villains during tribal, and then he ran 3 immunities to earn a compelling underdog story. You win by making the jury like your story.

I LOVE NICARAGUA. I get it that coming after HvV people were disapointed, but Survivor's still on after 22 years for a reason: every season is different and entertaining in its own way. I think Goddess Jane is a great character (I'm shocked she never came back), Wendy was a lovely first boot, Shannon was such an idiot, but memorable and his elimination made me SO happy, Sash was a perfect villain with a perfect ending, Holly had such a wonderful story line, Brenda's elimination was such a surprise, it was brutal. Marty was also a great character, also Jill and Yve I got to like and thought they had potential. Then Chase... Well, he was hot. Even Alina I thought was smart and a kinda underdog who got her revenge indirectly. And then we have Neonka and Purple Kelly. Neonka, what an awful but entertaining character! I was happy she left and wish she would have left sooner. And purple Kelly is legendary, come on! As regards Fabio... After Jane and Holly's elimination he's the perfect winner for such a bizarre season, only comparable to Gabon (which I LOVE TOO). But let's not ignore the fact that Fabio was NOT taken to the end (like Sandra in HvV), he EARNED his spot by winning immunities, just when nobody saw him coming. I applaud him. Oh, and one more thing: Jane, I love you! Thank you for this wonderful video!

I agree. It is SO UNFAIR that she was targeted because of her disability. I can see the logic behind it, but to actually target her because of it, shame. Kelly Bruno appeared just as capable and interesting as a lot of women on the show. I wish we had another season with her and that she won.

Anyway I'm watching survivor since I was four but in my country's language because I'm from Europe I started rewatching survivor in English in summer so I know this for only half a year so it is hard because when I'm watching your video and you said post-merged boost I have no idea what are you talking about so I asked. BeCaUs all I knew was Jane bola vyřazena teste po zlúčení, and that's it I'm watching survivor for 12 years but this is all I knew so it's very confusing for me

Not at all calling you dumb, I was just confused because pre-merge and post-merge is common Survivor lingo. Pre-merge boot is someone voted off before the merge and a post-merge boot is someone who has been voted off after the merge.
