New subscriber!! 36 year old African American women. Can I just say I’m obsessed with this channel! I love the body and getting down to the root cause of health issues and how the body functions. I’m really in love with knowing more about the body than the doctors do. Thank you for sharing your knowledge doctors! It is my hopes that people like you will plant the seeds to total sovereignty over our own health! Newly alkaline vegan 🌱. I think I’m going to start ordering my own test and labs when I want to know more about my body and how it functions instead of argue with my doctor when I request a specific test be ran. The more I learn the more I see and lose hope in the advocacy of doctors. No mucus no disease.. happy to hear my metabolic health is good (of course I paused and checked my chart 🤣) Health is Wealth!

I am 47, have no medical background whatsoever. Is it weird I find it is interesting to listen to two doctors talk to each other? I do believe that it is VERY important for layperson to understand their medical issues (not that I have any though), instead of blindly trusting the doctors. It is very important to ask your doctor hard questions.

Just eat whole, unprocessed foods in moderation, and eat what your body craves that's not packaged/processed. Per Chinese medicine, eat mostly warm foods, warm beverages, and not too much tropical stuff (unless you live there LOL) or raw food. Soup is good too. There's a reason the Chinese thrive healthwise overall.

I have FH, I am 58. One of those “anomalies” you speak of. Always very fit. A healthy eater, since the 80’s, a non smoker etc. (I have Virgo in the 6th house, health and fitness is my thing 😉) low BP, triglycerides in the 60’s. Doctors always super stumped by my LDL in the 300-400 range. So I was told not to worry about it. Cut to me being 50, still fit…actually a personal trainer. My new doctor asked me to get a CAC test. My score was almost 800. So I did go on the statins, I know you demonize them, but for me, I felt they are needed. I did a nuclear stress test last year, passed with flying colors!! No blockages, I am very fit, and I think very lucky considering. My 17 year old athlete, body of an Adonis son also has super high LDL AND unfortunately high triglycerides too. Also (because I cook most all our meals) a very healthy Whole Foods eater. Shocking and sad. I hope you can address FH, and many of its nuances someday. So many of these heart disease and cholesterol talks seem not to include us. Thank you.

Aha, so if you have high insulin-levels and gain weight, you "should cut out starch and sugars" - but that is very difficult in a vegan, plant based diet - hm, it seems to be meant, that this peaople should change their diet in the direction of a low carb/keto diet. Interessting that Dr.Hyman says this!

It's difficult because 90%+ of food is sugar, refined grains, and starches. All doctors should say this.

Yes, we who have worked for decades (in my case, 50 years) and actually since the early 1900s, have known the critical importance of life-positive diet and lifestyle. BUT...we have been up against the pharmafia and the Cabal--who don't want people to be healthy. It is a business--the disease business. It's big and powerful. HOWEVER, the people have never been against Natural Health. Even when and as the "powers-=that-shouldn't-be" push their propaganda on the population via the media that includes junk food and how to always trust your doctor, ask your doctor, meaning DRUGS.
