I'd love to see you do a detailed vid of BRC racing's 500cc. 2-stroke engine's they sell for people who own 07 to 16 KTM or Husqvarna 250 & 300 2-strokes? I own a 2011 KTM-300xc & still love riding it whenever possible. I am wanting to find a 2015 or 2016 KTM-250 or 300xc to order a BRC 500 engine for it.

General rule of thumb, larger displacement requires smaller jets because the engine pulls more vacuum. So it makes sense that the 250 needs larger jets than the 500. However jet size is highly dependent on the needle taper. With a different needle you may require a drastically different main or pilot.

if you don’t give the bike throttle when starting it it will start first kick every time 👍

Hey next time when you have a stripped screw on the carb..just use a pair of vice grips and clamp on to it and it will break loose..worked every time for me and takes way less time than cutting a slit with a hack saw and almost cutting your finger off
@clausnymann55275 жыл бұрын
I can't see the details in the video, but the screws in the float bowl might (since the bikes they came from, are Japanese) not be Phillips but JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard.) At first, Phillips tools seem to fit, but they will often end up damaged beyond repair, if Phillips tools are used on them (Please don't ask, how I know or how long it took me to figure that out!) They are often marked with a small 'dimple' on the head of the screw. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_screw_drives#JIS_B_1012) Short version: If you are working a lot on Japanese bikes, get a set of JIS bits to use on them. :-)
@Bill612 жыл бұрын

Those screws on the carburetor are not phillips. They're JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard). It's very easy to strip JIS screws with a phillips screwdriver, but if you use a JIS screwdriver, they'll come right out.
