Hi! Is the kick in 3:07 done correctly? I mean his hips are bent quite significantly - that's how I naturally perform my kick but lately I've read that you should keep your hips straight and not bent (I have to say that I tried to kick with straight hip, it's doable but my hip flexors hurt VERY much after workout).

Which part of the foot propels water? the top, bottom or sides? My feet are smallish so I get frustrated in getting any sense of propulsion on the bottom of my feet. I really struggle with getting power off any but the top of my feet.

4:25 "if u keep ur kick narrow and ur knees dont come outside ur shoulders, its gonna require u to have more flexibility" -> shouldnt we keep our knees at shoulder width to have an efficient kick? what u r implying here is our knees should be wider than shoulder width, which contradicts what u said earlier?

I find it strange that we coaches always refer to the drill as 2 kicks 1 pull, when in reality breaststroke begins with the pull, so 1 pull 2 kicks would be more accurate.

@anaortiz45782 жыл бұрын
Look down when you get into the streamline position, and check that you are swimming in same lane or check that you are following the same line of tiles accross the pool. It might have to do with your arm movements tho, maybe you are pulling with more force from one side? And thats making you do a zigzag movement? Ask someone to record you so you can check and correct the issue

When you say that when you are kicking on your back your knees should stay underwater, how will you practice breaststroke kick then? I see it as elementary backstroke kick rather than breaststroke!
@FaresKsebati2 жыл бұрын
Hi Brian! When kicking breaststroke kick on your back, you want your heels to drop down and start the propulsion of the breaststroke kick. If you think about this motion flipped over on your stomach, dropping your knees creates more drag, while keeping them in line with your body and raising the heels instead creates propulsion :)
