I’ve had my ZT 0561 for over 2-Years & it’s absolutely ‘THE’ Best EDC Blade I’ve ever owned/held! You forgot to mention that the blade steel is Elmax (superb Super Steel) & that the 2 handle sides are different b/c the brown side is G10, while the opposite is titanium.., FYI🇺🇸 After carrying mine everyday for the past two-plus years, I can vouch that this knife is truly & justly an “Investment!!!” Great Videos, Budget Bugout🇺🇸

FateofDestinee You might be right. The girl behind the counter at a local knife store carries the 300SN everyday and loves it. Also, Benchmade just came out with a re-issue of the 300SN known as the 300-1. I've also held the 300-1 and it is NOTICEABLY more ergonomic. So that's another option out there. Thanks for watching!

I bought the benchmade 300 (I actually don't know if it's the sn or -1? it just says 300 in the blade and I bought it at a retailer so didn't look into it just looked the knife). I have small hands and didn't even think about its potential ergonomic issue till I hoped on line. I don't know much about knifes but I love and it will definitely be my edc for awhile to come.

The only thing I didn't like about my Domino when I purchased it was the cheesy blue carbon fiber scale. I upgraded it immediately through Cuscadi and now it is one of my favorite blades. I can't understand why they'd put such a cheap looking and feeling scale on what basically amounts to perfection. Just my opinion of course.

I’d keep that Buck in mostly for the price you pay for that amazing blade steel. I know there’s a way to work around gimping as well but I’ll have to search it because I don’t remember how to do it exactly.
@jono90hd9 жыл бұрын
I have the buck in 420HC and in 10 minutes using the cut off wheel on a dremmel-tool you can make your own jimping on the flipper and the spine of the blade. I loved it in 420HC, it would be awesome in s30v.

I've owned the Cryo & Leek. Cryo doesn't hold a edge long, I used it for a couple of days cutting cardboard at work (x patterns on each end) maybe 30 boxes, not to many but it still dulled quickly. I have pretty small hands and the Cryo wasn't very comfortable, digs from the back end. Also the blade wasn't centered after a few days but I expect that's due to it dulling so quickly and having to put extra stress on it to cut. Leek did have a very fine blade but it's also very light and the first time I opened mine when I pressed the auto assist the knife flipped clean out of my hand. Fell tip down on concrete and the blade snapped off. At that point I got pissed and threw it down a storm drain. Just make sure if you pick up a Leek to watch the tip and make sure you have a good grip, it weighs nothing and is very smooth in the hand.

@asthmaticrhino9 жыл бұрын
+Warren SL Under oregon law it is " a knife propelled by force of spring" and is therefore illegal to carry concealed. Other states have similar laws
@nibs4noobs5857 жыл бұрын
Nope. When Ken Onion invented the assisted knife, he (and subsequently others) made sure that it meets the definition of "not" automatic and/or a switchblade. That's because the user has to actually open the blade by about 25% before the spring kicks in. Oregon has since been proven incorrect in its interpretation.
@kevinjfeeney777 жыл бұрын
also noticed that the blade length is incorrect as stated in the video. Cryo has a 2 3/4" blade. it's the cryo 2 that has a 3 1/4" blade. I own both.

old vid, Real Steel and Ruike IMHO now sell the 'best' budget flippers, RSK are usually around AU$80 for most of the good flippers (Thor, Sea Eagle, Megalodon E571) and the Ruikes are all around AU$50. Both companies offer excellent fit and finish, quality steel and plenty of options. I haven't seen any Zero Tolerance here in Australia selling for under $200.

That zt0350ts costs more than $100. It's more like $150 or $160 from the prices I've seen for sale on them. I have the m390 version and I was going to keep it but if I can make some decent money on this m390 sprint run. I think they only made 500 of them. They also made a carbon fiber handle of the same m390 zt0350 that sells for crazy money. I'm selling a bunch of brand new in box never used knives. The zt0303ts, first gen zt0550, zt0630 tanto m390, zt0700blk and a zt0566 and this is the only knife I have to sell that is used. I've got a guy that can turn that elmax blade into one of the sharpest blades you've ever seen. Also I have a slightly used paramilitary 2 in black DLC coated blade and digi camo g-10 scales. It's already been sharpened and highly polished edge so it slices effortless through phone book papers with almost no resistance. Let me know if any of these knives interests you. Thanks, Paul.

There are a lot of good Flippers, and I guess for the sake of not exclusively having Kershaw, but I would actually put the Kershaw 1760 Skyline at the very top. It's very light, USA made, good Sandvik steel....very good ergos and small package for a 3.1" blade. It pretty much bests the Leek in nearly every category. However it doesn't have SpeedSafe...which is really the upcost for the Leek. Versus the Vantage Pro, I'd put the Kershaw Camber which is also S30V steel and at least $30 cheaper. USA made as well (obviously as its S30V)...blade is 1/4" shorter, but has SpeedSafe. It's smooth G-10 vs aluminum with textured grip and stonewash finish..if that's your thing. It's still one of the least expensive S30V flippers on the market. However, I will observe ownership of words. He did say "His top 5" at the end.

I like gerber, I've had a gerber for over 5 years now and it's still a great knife which only costed me $30 and it's assisted opening. either way, once you go above the $80 mark, it can be an expensive lesson learned.

Lellobeetle The Skyline can be a bit of an odd ball when it comes to the flipping action. I have owned 5 Skylines over the past 5 years, 3 of them I have now, and 2 of those are folding ones. I noticed from my older two, that I no longer own, the detent wears out over time and the flipping action becomes very soft. I have the Carbon Fiber/S30v one and a Blue handle/Blackwash one now. The Premium skyline has about the best flipping action of any Skyline I have ever handled. The Blue/blackwash one, which is one of the rarest Skylines, has a somewhat soft action that needs a firm pull; even after I greased and tuned the pivot.

@capoc38a418 жыл бұрын
Flippers in general are just a bad idea as an actual EDC knife. They require you to draw the knife then change your grip to "flip" it open and then another grip change to actually be able to use it effectively. Compared to standard thumb stud/hole knives flippers are slower to get on target in a defensive situation. a quality $200+ Auto is a much better choice over a flipper. Wave knives are up there with flippers unless the Wave is on a Karambit style knife. We've done extensive trials with various styles of blades used in conjunction with pistol drills. 1.Fixed blade was of course the top knife. American Kami Colubris. 2. Traditional thumb stud/hole folder. Three Sisters Forge Beast, Benchmade 943 and Combative Edge SR11. 3. Autos. Benchmade 4300 CLA, Gerber 06, Microtech Scarab and Ultratech. 3. Wave deployment. Spyderco Delica and Endura both with Wise Men Company Signet Ring (Converts them to Karambit folder) 4. Flipper. Zero Tolerance 0801, 0 350 and 0095. We each (3) carried and for a lack of a better word "Played" with these knives over the course of 3 weeks. We rotated each week what knives we had to the next tester. By the week of testing we all were extremely familiar with all the knives and their function. Our drip consist of a blind loaded mag with a Snap Cap randomly loaded as to represent a failure each shooter would then utilize their knife as a backup weapon. Each test was at arms length and time stopped when the blade slashed and stabbed the target once each. The slash and stab had to cut or pierce through the cardboard target. After all 3 testers had used all the above listed knives times were tallied up and knives ranked. Though on a few occasions the flippers were faster they due to grip and grip changes didn't meet the slash/stab standard and came up shallow thus resulting in a DQ for that round. Flippers are a fidgeting play with it knife. They are not a serious EDC backup option. So before you think "oh now that's cool" consider this test.

i'd say andre thorburn are the best knives on the planet or maybe des horn or. If you want to spend a bit less, would go with a chris reeves or benchmade.
