Hey - I'm 65 and used to play way back in the late 1970's. I have just invested in a practice pad, snare stand and throne - am really enjoying myself and find Rob's tutorials fantastic - such a talented guy and so friendly - thanks Rob - keep them coming.

🤜🤛Mr. Flamuel L. Jackson I am 73 and have not played a Kit in almost 50 years. Used to play in a Jazz Quartet and Top 100 R&B/Pop Band. Everyone told me coming back would be like riding a bike. Sure, it's like I fell off the bike down a cliff. Muscle Memory is out the window. But, I bought a new Kit Christmas 2022. I started watching videos from a variety of people but, I kept coming back to you (Mr. Flam) and another person. Rob I really like your style and will continue to follow your videos and accessories from your store and Sweetwater. Playing again is great exercise. "Keep on Keepin On" my friend. I always enjoy your videos, because you have a way of presenting the most useful information in the least-complicated way. I'm a big fan of flam exercises, because they are really useful in funk grooves, just by moving one hand to the hi-hat & adjusting the timing so the hands hit together. Being able to play an accent & a ghost note at the same time is an important skill. Thanks for continuing to put tools in my musical toolbox.

first ones are flam-taps , next ones were flam-mills , no three dont no name but just flam ever note of paraduddle , 4 were swiss army triplets with aa triplet switch the same as a ratamague , 4 were two flam-taps and a single switchs to reverse flam-taps ;) I LOVE flams , I love to play them at different subdivisions as well so the 4 o 3 sticking floats around the bar. You are a fantastic drummer , so pls dont think im saying anything to you like im better but I do wanna say , for life always practice to play your accents harder , the wider the dynamic on the flam - the better. ( obviously more difficult up to speed ) but as a kit drummer mostly the speeds youwill ever get to uset these are in the range for super hard accents. ;)

Awesome lesson .. Prof Brown.. i need some help from your side. I've dropped u a text on facebook messenger as well So here's the thing.. I've got some background training as an ENT surgeon. I've been blessed to be a novice self taught drummer. And I wanted some info on guidance to ear care for drummers - interms of what IEM's to use / how drummers should tKe care of their hearing etc etc I'm writing an article on the topic to spread awareness among drummers.. musicians.. public. I feel its a topic that has not been addressed clearly.. rather been dismissed as exposure to noise. And I'm sure you just like any other musician worth his / her weight especially a drummer would not take it pleasantly to be told they're making noise. So on that note.. please do help in whatever way u can. Cheers.. God bless.. stay safe.. stay happy.. keep smiling and Rock N Roll
